Description
Well, here it is! This pic is my Christmas present for you all. (Or perhaps holiday present? ^^) I just want to say a big THANK YOU to everyone who watches me and anyone who comments on my artwork. You guys mean so much to me!I thought that since most of the people who watch me either enjoyed seeing The Return of the King or are LOTR fans, drawing a holiday-inspired picture of the Fellowship of the Ring would be appropriate. The idea is that they're all in Minas Tirith for the first snow there, even though I know in the book they parted ways much earlier. But I thought it would be cute anyways. ^__^ I'm pretty happy with it, especially considering I had to draw three bearded guys, which isn't exactly my strong suit.
The Fellowship of the Ring is copyrighted to Tolkien. The reason I color their hair the way I do is copyrighted to New Line Cinema. (Lol!) And all magical glowing snow is copyrighted to me. ME!!! ... Erm, maybe not.

an excellent drawing indeed, though I think that the hobbit's arms are too long for thier size, they look like humans on thier knees, but a great drawing nonetheless

Good point. ^__^ I have a tendency to draw arms too long, so thank you for pointing that out. And thanks for the comment! I really appreciate it.

Huzzah! I simply adore this picture, regardless of the time frame. And you've got everybody there! It's nice to see all of the Fellowship together. Nicey-nice. This definitely will be added to my favorites!

Actually, I once found a pic of the Fellowship with a ghost Boromir lingering in the background.
I have to say, it looked rather strange!
But this is a nice pic. Obviously movie-inspired, but the concept itself is lovely.

falling-starchild In reply to peet [2004-01-03 18:19:11 +0000 UTC]
Yes, I thought it might be best just to keep Boromir out of the whole thing, because after all I'm not sure I like the thought of him wandering around in Middle Earth after his death. It doesn't seem right, somehow, not to let him just rest in peace, as trivial as the picture may be.
Thanks very much for the compliment. I appreciate your open mind about movie-inspired images. Someday, if I improve in making my pictures more realistic, I'd like to try my hand at drawing my own interpretation of the Fellowship as you have. At this point, though, I'm not sure that anyone would be able to tell the difference!

This picture is so cute!!! I like it lots. You're a very cool color-er...how do you do it? (unless you'd rather not give away your secrets)
the only problem is that Gimli doesn't look very happy! But that's probably because his beard is in the way! ^_^ either that or he doesn't like snow (they don't get it much under mountains, you know *nod*)
anyway, awesome picture!

Aw, thanks for the nice comment! ^.^ Actually, I think Gimli would look happy, but I think you're right in that his beard got in the way. And I never know how to draw people smiling when they have beards, lol.
Oh, I'd be happy to tell you how I color. I draw the picture on plain paper and ink it. And then I scan it into my computer and I use Photoshop Elements for coloring. ^__^ That's not very specific, I know, but if you ever have any questions about coloring and stuff, I'd love to help!

EarthangelJenna In reply to falling-starchild [2004-01-01 18:12:03 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, I do mostly the same thing when I color, I draw it, ink it (I'm awful at inking lol) scan it, then color it in Photoshop with my graphics tablet. But what I was really curious about is what kinds of things you do once you get it into Elements. I love the richness of your coloring, and if you glance into my gallery, mine don't have that richness, so I'm not sure if I"m sure if I'm doing something wrong or what! Lol. I use regular Photoshop 6.0 so it might not be exactly the same but close I'm sure. ANYway, if you wouldn't mind, it would be awesome if you would tell me your secret to rich-ness ^_^ you can do it here or in a note if you like, it's all good to me Thanks a million!!

Hey, I haven't been able to comment, because I have been up in Montana, so I just got back, but wow that picture is cool. So is Tolkien. Oh, I wanted to ask you... do you know how to write in elven? I know you can't on the computer, but I mean in real life. Because my friend figured out how to by translating the moon letters off the map from The Hobbit. So if you already know, that's cool, but if you don't, I could try to send you the key. Alright bye.

No, I don't know how to write in Elven, but I'd really like to know! My sis has been researching it, but she hasn't been able to find a key like that. If you can, I'd love it if you sent me the one your friend found. That'd be awesome!! Thanks very much for offering, too.

Of course.... the best one of them all is dead................. poor Boromir.
But I guess he can follow them around off-set singing the theme song whenever someone is trying to be serious.
From far off in the distance... the sound of 'dun dun dun... dun dun dun... dududun.. dun. dun. dun. duuuuun. dududun.....' can be heard....

Indeed. I was trying to think of a way to put Boromir in there too... I felt bad he was missing. Perhaps I could have CG'ed him in as a ghost?? Hmmm...

blix-it In reply to falling-starchild [2003-12-24 23:30:21 +0000 UTC]
No.... ghosts are really dumb...... I think you should draw his head mounted in wild game fashion. They can put it in Minas Tirith.
Or he could be reincarnated as a ring wrath steed. dunno how he'd fly though.

That's mean! >_< *would much rather see ghosty-Boromir...or living-Boromir @@;*
He could fly like Rudolph. X3 Hee. Though the Ringwraiths' horses didn't fly...mayhaps you mean the fell beasts? *glomps the fell beasts, and is promptly eaten*
*consumed*

Yes. Fell beast/steed. You could really call it either of them, seeing as how they're both.
WHEN I FIRST SAW THEM IN THE SECOND MOVIE I STARTED DROOLING!!!! THEY WERE SOOOOOOO COOL!!!!!!!! OMG!!! I want one for a boyfriend. If he tries to eat me, I'll smack him.
No prob.
yes..... yes... Boromir was obviously the best character. Not only that, but he's my roll model....
1. fear only blond females with piercing stares.
2. have no respect for authority (namely lost kings of gondor)
3. If the situation is hopeless, send Faramir.
4. When the going gets tough... the tough die. Honorably even.
good roll model for any teen I think. definatly.

3. If the situation is hopeless, send Faramir. You are just really mean today.
*cuddles Boromir, Faramir, and Denethor...okay, maybe not Denethor ^_^;*
I actually wrote a poem for the Fell Beasts [/shameless plug] X3 They're FREAKIN' AWESOME. *hugs them tightly* I want to be one of the NazgΓ»l! Getting to ride around on flying killer pterodactyl thingies or black horsies all day...while hunting Hobbits. ^__^ Heee.
Boromir rules all. He's a big brother to Merry and Pippin (not the 1984 kind xD), he comes up with alternative plans of action as to what to do with the Ring, and he valiantly fights to save lives. And in return he is mocked, yelled at, scorned, ignored, and kicked in the shins. x.o Poor Boromir. u.u *hugs and pets him*
