I like how the part of the sphere that's inside the liquid got deformed and became the reflection on the liquid. If you look and the liquid you see that it decided to behave in a different way of other liquids. This liquid comes from the walls that are surrounding it. It's almost like if this liquid absorbs whatever comes in contact with it and becomes that object; since the liquid has a lot of textures and colors that reflect its surroundings.

Remember tho, it is a pool of displacement ...so when you enter if your legs are on the other side of the pool ..but youre on this side ...don't freak ..

well let's see.. Infinity textures for the blue orb in the background ... One of my Apophysis flames and my photo leaf textures were turned into the floating orb in 3DS Max... ANd it was all combined in photoshop ... ( all antiquated versions 
...the overall piece started from just fiddling with the PS displacement function in an old tut ...... that's what most of it is .. . and the ripples are some filter fiddlin' in PS ...
