First off, HAPPY STAR WARS MONTH and May The 4th Be With You!!!I always enjoy creating and posting artwork connected to my fan fiction and for Star Wars month, and even though I haven't been able to write my Star Wars fan fiction recently (which kills me) I have found other ways to express my creativity and create my OC in the meantime. And I wanted to do something extra special for the 4th!
This artwork depicts a scene from my Star Wars fan fiction, 'The Daughter of Darth Vader' in which my OC, Nyx received a daunting Force Vision from Loth-wolves on the planet Lothal while inside the Loth-wolf den. In this vision, Nyx saw herself riding her Loth-wolf companion, whom she named 'Crystal' through the open grasslands of Lothal wielding a single blue Lightsaber. She felt what it would be like to be a Jedi and everything that came with it. This horrified her seeing as her entire existence had been dedicated to the Dark Side, her father, Darth Vader and the Empire. She lived and breathed as a Dark Force user, and she was self-confident and secure in her identity with no doubts whatsoever, and out of nowhere her close wild, yet extremely gentle canine friends suddenly turn on her and suggest that she may not be who she believed she was and instead may be someone completely different, someone she would never even dream of. And that her entire origins may have come from a different place. Nyx was stunned and appalled that her closely trusted companions and practically only friends she'd ever had in her life would question her identity and livelihood and the very roots her life was built on. This implication was nothing short of a betrayal. Without a second thought, Nyx instantly and forcefully denied these implications and immediately severed her friendship and cut all ties with the wolves. She didn't want to be around or have friends that didn't accept who she was, even if that meant having no friends at all. Her own beliefs, outlook and self-conception and her duties to herself and the Empire were far more important than something that simply couldn't possibly be true. And obsessing over it would accomplish nothing. In the weeks that followed, Nyx began to become withdrawn from her normal life and she delve further into the Dark Force determined to forget what the wolves had told her and not let it trouble her or cloud her judgement. The experience haunted her dreams, and she began to become more aggressive in her everyday life. Her personality began to change and her perspective on things and on herself began to sift, during which time the Dark Force had an unbreakable and growing grip on her. She was becoming someone completely different at her core and turning into a pure, unadulterated Sith, something she had somehow managed to partially avoid during her upbringing. And it was all due to a broken heart and a growing internal conflict she refused to acknowledge. However, despite all her efforts in diluting her thoughts and feelings and the strong negative emotions, Nyx found herself unable to fully disregard what she had been told by her former friends. She began to unwittingly form scenarios inside her mind as to what this could actually mean if it were true and what it would do to her life if she were to believe it. She ran through any and all alternate scenarios in an attempt to figure out why the wolves would tell her something like this. She began to think that maybe this had something to do with why she had always felt so different her whole life and why she never really fit in with her surroundings or anyone around her. Perhaps this was the true reason behind her core values, feelings and positive view on life. She began to doubt herself and her life unable to figure out the underlying meaning and unable to put this behind her. Her mind constantly spiraled in all different directions desperately trying to come to a conclusion that made sense. For the first time in her life, she felt truly lost and unsure how to proceed. As if everything began to crash in on itself. She had never before questioned her own identity or her belief system and despite these feelings not going away nothing about this actual felt real. It felt as though it was all just a bad dream. She wondered why she couldn't get past this, and she didn't know why it was affecting her so much. She wanted answers. There wasn't anyone she could talk to about this, and she certainly couldn't bring it to her father. She felt guilty even thinking about this possibly and that no matter what she did it wouldn't leave her mind. She was worried her father was going to find out. He would definitely notice the change in her and even if she didn't tell him directly, he knew her too well not to notice something was going on. And if he were to somehow find out what was going on inside her mind, she couldn't even imagine how he'd react or what he'd do. Not a lot of things scared Nyx, but her father finding out terrified her. This could jeopardize her entire life. The wolves knew just how much her father and the Empire meant to her and she was so angry with them that they would put her through something like this. They only pretending to be her friends in order to gain her trust before dropping a devastating and disconcerting bomb on her that they probably knew in advance how she'd react and how it would impact her. Nyx began to think opening herself up and putting her faith in the wolves was something she should have never done in the first place, and she promised herself that she would never put herself in that position again.
Eventually, Nyx made up with the wolves, but you'll have to read my fan fiction to find out more, IF I'm ever able to write it and put my ideas on paper! I plan to create some AI artwork with every part of my fan fiction I create, and since it's taking me so long to write, I will probably create some scenes before the fan fiction is finished!
Nyx was sent to the planet Lothal by her father, Darth Vader when she was 19 years old for real life experience and hands-on learning after her secluded Sith training on her home world of Dromund had been completed. After some time, she met the Loth-wolves during one of her many expeditions out into Lothal's open plains. One day Nyx was unexpectedly approached by a majestic, pure white Loth-wolf and upon utilizing her mysterious animal communication skill, she almost immediately bonded with the seemingly fearsome creature and named her Crystal. Shortly after, Nyx came in contact with more Loth-wolves, Crystal's wolf pack and Nyx forged another strong bond with an all-black male wolf she named Midnight. Nyx would leave Lothal's capital city where she was stationed as often as she could to see her new friends, and unaware of how she was able to bond to these creatures so easily and of their Light Side/Jedi origins, each time she visited their connection grew stronger and stronger. That is, until Crystal and the wolves brought her to their den.
I couldn't get the wolf to look like an actual Loth-wolf from the series 'Star Wars Rebels', but I tried to get the size and color right and make it more fantasy-like than regular wolves. And I made Nyx's clothes more Jedi-like than her regular wardrobe. I like how she and the wolf turned out and I'm very happy with this artwork overall!
