INT. HOSPITAL

Will wakes up on a hospital bed. He struggles to open his eyes because of the light above him. A faintly grunts as a nurse in the room notices him and rushes out. Will attempts to sit up but he felt his body is numbed. Will softly gives up and lies on the bed, looking at his surroundings. Within a minute later, Nick and Judy rushed into the room.

Nick is wearing his police uniform. It is noticeably wet and dirtied. Judy is wearing a pinked buttoned shirt and pants.

The two rush beside Will, their paws on his arm and shoulders.

NICK:
Will! Are you okay? Are you hurt?

JUDY:
Will. Baby, it’s us.

Will looks at his parents confused, trying to recall what happened.

WILL:
Mom. Dad. Wha- (pause) what happened?

Will ask in a raspy voice.

NICK:
You- (pause) You fell off a bridge. And, you almost drowned.

JUDY:
It’s okay now. You’re fine.

Will looks down, facing away from his parents.

NICK:
What is it, kiddo?

WILL:
Are you two going to fight?

Will and Judy’s faces widened. They look at each other before looking back at Will.

JUDY:
What makes you say that?

WILL:
Because. (pause) Every time the three of us are together again, you two would yell at each other.

NICK:
Will, its... (pause) It was just adult talk. It’s nothing.

WILL:
“Nothing?”

Will looks up at Nick. His eyes are mixed with emotions.

WILL:
Am I nothing?

JUDY:
Will, what’s wrong?

Will scoffs as he looks at Judy.

WILL:
Now, you just decide to ask me that? It’s always about me, isn’t it? You’re always arguing about me. About my life.

Nick:
Will…

WILL:
I ran away because I was tired of listening to you two, on and on fighting over me.

Will starts to tear up.

WILL:
I thought, if I make myself go away, you’d have your lives back. But.

Tears fell off of Will’s eyes.

WILL:
Why did you bring me back? Am I just-

Nick and Judy hug Will. Will’s face froze with shock and confusion.

Judy:
We’re sorry, Will. We (pause) didn’t know we were hurting you.

NICK:
We’re bad parents, Will. We’re sorry for hurting you.

Will breaks down in tears, holding his parents tight.
