God, I hate that show. They killed "The Rocky Horror Picture Show"...and I've never actually seen the entire movie (I just know the songs XDD). Seriously, the black girl as Frank N Furter? What the hell?
And don't even get me started on the Madonna and Lady Gaga episodes!

yes, I guess that's why some people like Glee better than HSM because it's not a fucking three month long commercial. Disney advertised HSM (and Camp Rock which is a highly overrated movie/musical)to an extreme level before and after the movie premiered (with encore presentations after the movie premier, a sing along version, a reality series based on the movie, a show on ice, and even briefly mentioned on Ugly Betty (although they later decided to advertise Wicked, a far more superior musical) . At least with Glee you actually get to hear all the foul language that actually occurs in a highscool.
Sure Glee has that glee on tour thing, but it's not that big in comparison to they way DIsney milks this shit up.

Glee might not trigger useless crap merchandising but triggers mass music downloading and artist content purchases. Many of that music only got attention by being displayed at Glee rather than it's cultural or performance value.

This is true, I will admit I liked some of their covers because they (occasionally) put a twist on it (like they did with Halo and I'm walking on sunshine). But alot of the covers are awful...really awful.

I don't really know what songs they used. Anyway, I'm not defending High School Musical, because its just as hopeless as defending Glee, yet another thing they have in common. Glee just molds the story around whatever songs they pick at random. No wonder the character's forget about the lessons they learn the previous episode and revert back to their horny, selfish and narcissistic selves.

Actually, the writer of glee said himself he writes the story and then picks the songs. And really, what teenager isnt all those things. Also, high school musical was a disnay show created for children, as in little children, where as glee is a show for teens and adults about why life sometimes sucks and u have to deal with it

Well even though I've already commented, I feel the need to defend glee. I think its utterly different from high school musical, and people who have seen the show would agree. Also, most fans are people out side of high school for the reasons you stated your self. There high school experiences suck. And what show could they look to that showed that? I mean nowadays its all the secret life of the american teenager, which really doesn't reflect high school lives. Glee does that. It shows the losers, so the people who were the losers can watch.
