Thanks! That makes me feel better!... Although it never bothered me that people were mocking me They have no idea what they are missing.

^^ You have the first three seasons? You have no idea how jealous I am right now! Granted, I wouldn't understand japanese - but I'd probably own them anyway - and pray for subtitles. Plus, I heard their voices already in spanish and french and they all rock! German is next on my list so I wouldn't mind the orginal! ^^

Anyway... here in the US, you can only get the first season complete... second and third... well.. they sorta fall all over the place. They randomly release them... what makes me really upset! I can't wait for the 4th to come out - I learned to love Yu-Gi-Oh! with this one And the 5th ! I have only seen the first four... so I'm still waiting to see how things end... although I'm spoiled, because I know the end already... which I really regret right now! I still want to see it on the screen though! ^^

I know how you feel. I'm in Tokyo Japan now and I found the whole YU-GI-OH! series including the GX on DVDs, problem is most of them are for rent and they are very expensive. I might as well buy the ones on Ebay.

How expensive? Oh the whole DVD set of that season is 28,000 yen. That's nearly two hundred in American dollars!

Oh those episodes are available, I just bid on one, but with 3 discs each. But at least there's subtitles in them.

oh wow... I can get the first season for about half of that.. well, maybe a bit more, but not much!
^^ How big is YGO in Japan? I know it's been around there for nearly ten years... but (don't know if you know/remember Sailor Moon) but in comparison... can you tell me how they both stand? (If not, don't worry!)

Yep, I remember Sailor Moon. Yu-Gi-Oh! is still more popular than Sailor Moon in Japan.

I'm in Hawaii now! I finally get to watch Saturday cartoons again with new episodes!! I just saw two new episodes of Yu-Gi-Oh! when Seigfried's(sp) brother was batteling Yami Yugi to win for him. I know I missed a lot for the last 5 months, including the end of the DOOM series....but it was still neat to watch the new episodes. Oh, next Saturday they will show the first dubbed episode of the Egyptian Arc called "Dawn of the cards"...I think. It sounds like Theif King Barkura has a different voice. I just got the manga about that episode in English and in Japanese!

I missed the last season almost completely too... I saw the first five episodes and the last one and could come up with the rest ...
DOOM is so far my fav, followed by the very first. Pegasus is still my fav 'villian' although I know that the final season will take verything over. I can't wait to meet the King of Thiefs and see Atemu's reaction to get his memories back! I heard he will go through his death-scene again.. or at least... so are the rumors in my circles... AND don't tell me!

Hawaii... Japan... I'm so jealous... you know that! Two places I want to see to bad! ... I should just go, drop my appartment and just go... *goes packing* -

Hey, this week on Cartoon Network they show Yu-Gi-Oh! GX series dubbed in English! I just saw the first epispde it today or more likely this afternoon at 2pm. It should come on again at 5pm. The new kid ran into Yugi and he's older now and talks like Yami Yugi. He gave the kid his Winged Koriboh card. It's pretty interesting so far and that card is pretty useful too.

*sigh* I totally forgot about that new series until I stumbled across it last night. (Go figure I would miss the one with Yugi ) I knew he would be in the first... oh well, with some luck, they are going to repeat it ...
Although I have to say... the new duo make a very ... similar impression to Yami and Yugi... just... 'seperate' from each other...

Yeah, but sometimes I want to knock Jaden(sp) upside his head to be too darn confident all the time. At least Yami was a bit cocky. Chad is much more cocky than Seto Kiaba. Hee....don't get me started on the teacher with the lips....

To be honest... I have only seen one episode and it looks like it's going to be like that for a while...
From what I could see of Jaden... well... I don't mind him. I do prefer Yami by like... a REAL LOT. But that is always how it goes... the first characters of a story have the flair, while 'the second generation'... will have to work very hard to achieve the same level the fan had the series on. Jaden's little friend though... I'm sorry... he's such a Yugi with glasses from what I could tell... It's not even funny!
And that girl in blue ( the first moment I saw here.. well... I actually thought that she could be Seto's daugther... ) Must have been the hair - but then again... she's way to nice and old to be that...

Well, if you want I can tell you how it went when Yugi meets Jaden (some quotes are not that accurate, but it's all I remember):

Jaden: (he shows up running towards the Kiaba Corp building) "I can't be late for my test! Oh well....I guess it doesn't matter since I'm not a student." (Yugi walks by and all you see is his shoes, until Jaden, not looking where he's going bump into his chest.....yes Yugi's taller now) "Heh, sorry..." (picks up his cards)

Older Yugi: (his face is not fully showing) "So, you're a duelist?"

Jaden: "Yeah, I'm training for the academy."

Older Yugi: "Heh...oh you don't say?" (he reaches his pouch deck which is hanging on his right side, taking out a card)

Jaden: (finally gets up) "Yeah..heh...heh...huh? Hold on...aren't you...?"

Older Yugi: "Here, take this. Something tells me that it belongs with you." (he hands him the Winged Kiribo card)

Jaden: (takes the card from him) "Thanks!"

Older Yugi: (walks by him) "Good luck..."

Jaden: (turns around) "Hey wait!...I'll...make you proud!" (takes a quick bow to him)

Older Yugi: "Heh!" (gives him a tumbs up....and walks away. You still can't see what his eyes and hair look like...)

Jaden: (looks at the card until it makes that Kiribo sound)"...Huh? What was that? Oh, I better get going! I can't be the next king of games if I'm late!"

^^ Thank you so much! I did see a couple screen-shoots of that scene posted online, so I know partly what the scene looks like.
A discussion was formed if Yami had come back... but I personally think that Yugi grew up and became a bit more like Yami... ... either way... I have my own ideas about this story and the fact that Yugi was in it and gave Jaden his card... ^^

well, this pic doesn't show it as well... but the character 'Yugi' wears this puzzle that looks like a pyramid upside down That thing is a few thousand years old and used to belong to a pharaoh. The puzzle is one of seven 'millenium items' and this one, the millenium puzzle contained the spirit of that very pharaoh.
Now, the story started with the puzzle being shattered in pieces and Yugi, a kid from our times solves it and frees therefore the spirit of the pharaoh within. They fuse with each other, need to learn to live with each other and trust each other (rather weired situation).

In the beginning, it is not known that the spirit is a pharaoh and it is during that time that he is called 'Yami'.
hope this makes a little more sense...
How the spirit of the pharaoh got into the puzzle to begin with is not known yet... but someone, somewhere leeked out that Yami's true name is Atemu... so... that is at least the story between Yugi and Yami (Atemu), who makes up Yu-Gi-Oh! japanes for King of Games!

The story started out with Yugi solving the Millenium puzzle - the upside down looking pyramid he is wearing - and there was 'a spirit' locked within. When Yugi put the puzzle together, that spirit was set free and 'joined with Yugi'. How that spirit got into the puzzle is still unknown, but that spirit turns out the be this 'old' Pharaoh from 3000 years ago, when the shadow games first existed.

Hope this makes a little more sense...

'I speek a little and very bad. Took it for three years in my college - 'no idea what AP is all about'. It is very difficult with my language recorder - 'forgot what despues stood for' - don't speak spanish - 'lost word' - all...

yea.. I understood that sorta - you're good! I really want to get back into the language, but I am too focused on french at the moment... and they are both for some reason easy to mess up with each other..

I speak it a little and very badly. I took three years at my high school, and Spanish AP this year. It is dificult for me to remember the languege after not speaking it for the entire summer.

AP-(american abriviation) Advanced Placement. A college level course taken while still in high school. A test is administered at the end of the course to see if it will count for college credit.

Atemu is actually the only one who runs the story for me - although his friendship with Yugi puts a lot into it as well! he can only be the way he is with somebody like Yugi around!

wonder if Yami every gets tired off him, or believes him to be to cute - innocent - for the world. Yet, I think Yami marvels exactly that in him - ... yea.. me talking...

Can I recommend a book to you? I read it in the last two days.. flew through it!
'The Mistmantle Cronicles' book one, Urchin of the Riding Stars, by McAllister. Totally new! I dont know if it is available down under, but I can surely recommend it! It made me laugh, cry and really upset and happy in the end!

Saw you read Redwall.. in that case, you'll love Mistamantle. It;s all about animals, but the main characters are squirrles... I love Crispin! He reminded me a lot of Justin from The Secret of Nimn... have you seen the movie?

XD XD!! I don't know why I really like Yami either. It really is a very interesting show...I am soo glad that you gave me those links so that I could figure out the real anime story...before all I knew was the poor mutilated dub on Saturday morning. ><;; Heh! Yea.. away from all the dueling (especially against Marik!!! :headslam: .. the story is really great. I can't wait for the next season, final season, in which Yami finds out everything about himself and they actually go to Egypt
There is a manga out - Millenium World - which shows you what happens... Yami is so thrown off, it's great! And he meets part of his family!!!!! It's really great.

I spoiled myself somewhat and therefore know how the story ends... yet, I want to SEE it.

Yes, the "Marik arc" was kind of like...just stop it just stop it ALREADY...

Yay! My favorite bits of anime are the parts where they really build up the characters backgrounds. <3 I hope that it isn't too badly dubbed to ruin it. Do you know anything of that one new season that seems to focus on another character entirely...? So strange...don't get rid of Yami. ToT

Yea.. I heard of it. Yu-Gi-Oh! GX... I haven't really figured out what it is all about - but as you said.. it is the same game the new character plays with, but as far I I understand way in the future...

Partly I'm upset with it. Granted, I know how the story of Yugi and Yami ends.. but I would have liked it better if they had aired the last leason of Yu-Gi-Oh before they started a totally new storyline... well... not in my powers to change that. The WB has it's own rules anyway - - found that out the harsh way over the last year...
