Description
This is my second year animation that I produced at the University of Hertfordshire, England. It follows the adventures of a young girl who imagines herself flying amongst and manipulating the clouds in the sky.Although the animation is not as finished as I'd have liked and I had to cut a scene out to meet the deadline I feel like I've learnt a lot throughout its development. Enjoy!

Flash for character animation, Photoshop for backgrounds, Aftereffects for compositing/effects, Premiere for editing.

I haven't had any experience with aftereffects yet but aside from that this animation is amazing. Thanks for letting me know c:

I used Flash for all the character animation, Photoshop I used for drawing the backgrounds, AfterEffects I used to composite stuff/add stuff like motion blur and move the clouds around, Premiere I used to edit everything together at the end.

No, I did all the character work in Flash. I exported each shot as an image sequence and then imported into Aftereffects where I could layer it on top of the backgrounds.

I really love the style of this animation. It must have been hard using no outlines! And the color theme is so light and pretty. Awesome animation!

Ah! I saw this a long time ago on Vimeo. I didn't know you had a dA account! Anyway, I really love this. I even put it as my status on facebook so my friends could see it. It is truly a lovely animation, with a style of its own. Great work!

I would recommend to just draw a lot, and don't be faithful to the style you have developed - try to play around drawing things that look completely different. Life studies would be a good move.

Thank you. These things are so basic and we still forget them... And I am already going to an art school, though they don't give us many life drawing classes... next year, I hope.
