Description

Eisheth felt her limbs shake beneath her as she ascended the Mountain of Three. She was nearly there; but so weak. A misplaced hoof on a loose stone sent her topping to the shale-covered earth, slicing her forelegs as she landed with a heave of breath. Too weak to stand now, she raised her shaky head towards the statue of Ares that she had been aiming for, half way up the mountain. Her image stood motionless against the red-tainted sky; even the rest of the stars above her seemed to turn red before Eisheth's eyes. She laid her head down, feeling weakness take over - her paranoia was ebbing, but the feeling of being watched never left her now. Before her eyes closed, she looked up and saw the statue of Aether above her.

At one time, the statue had radiated strength and power, his expression one of focus and determination, yet also softness. But now, with the Red Star at his back, his stone-cold eyes reflected only horror. As Eisheth slipped away into an exhausted sleep, rain began to fall, mingling her blood with the light of the Star, as if her blood was beginning to flow down the mountain into the uncertainty that lay below.

I missed doing art so badly. It was so nice - and such a great warm up - to sit down and doodle this!

For context, this is Aether's statue upon the Mount of Three. What's he looking at now, I wonder?
