I submerse my head into the freezing water. I pull it back out and look at my reflection. "Oh my God..." I whisper to myself. I shiver. "That wasn't soothing at all, jack ass!" I turn and leap at Jax. I pin him on his back and he laughs and throws me on the ground. I struggle and give a strangled cry from my chest. I'm laughing, though. He lets go and pads a foot away. He sits and stares at me with his innocent brown eyes. "Well, Mizu. I told you to do that so that when you looked in the water at your reflection, maybe you'd see why your name is Mizu." I give him a quizzical look. "But-" He cuts me off "But nothing. Have you ever seen your eyes?" I squint at him and look back in the aqua-blue lake. "But Jax, my name means water, and-" He cuts me off again. "You're named Mizu because of your eyes." I look into my own eyes. They almost blend in with the crystal water. "See? The water. But that's not the water your eyes are compared to." I lift up my head and turn to look at him. "What?" I ask, puzzled. "Lake Riuku-" He trails off and looks into my eyes. "Your eyes are a piercing yet beautiful, innocent blue. Like The Lake Riuku." He says. He regains focus and shudders. "But the only way to get there is to go down the Village Well.." As if he already knows my next statement. "It's dangerous. Mizu." I laugh. "I laugh at evil. Akuma could come with us! She's a demon, there's no way demons will attack their own kind." He laughs, too. I take it as an insult. "You still think like a pup. You don't know Mizu Well Demons, do you? You've never heard of them?" I snarl. "No, I haven't..." I glare at him. I feel stupid. "Well they attack their own kind. And they eat souls."
"Doesn't Akuma do that?"
"Yes."
"She can eat their damn souls."
"No, demons don't have souls. Akuma was given one."
"So they can eat her's? Wow. Having a soul was a curse, then."
"Actually, it was."
"So it was a curse on her?"
"Yes, so she wouldn't have protection."
"Well."
Meaning she couldn't help us if her's was eaten. They'd eat ours."
"HAH!"

"Xinku."
"What about him?"
"He could come."
We grin at each other. We have the same idea. Xinku has no soul, and he's a Soul Protector. We run to the village to collect Akuma and Xinku. I giggle in excitement. "We'll head out tomorrow." Jax grins and puts his paw around me.
