Yeah, it's a Japanese Manga thing. A lot of girls in manga do this when they're happy and excited to give an allure of sexiness, like being pinned-up. It also gives an ingenious sense of being relaxed, it's very cute.

hmm, ofcourse. I forgot to imagine that it's ofcourse another style of art and thus another culture, and I forgot to adapt my views to those of manga to illustrate the point.
Good thing though, your explanation cleared my mind of any confusion on the subject, and now the small gesture is clear as a daisy.
