Description
This is about a year old, but I still like it. Drawn for the characters and rapid EI I made for Gaia Online, Checkmate. The Black King and White Queen!I've always wanted to create a project or art book based off of chess, since I'm a huge nerd - so this was really fun for me. Even though the EI is long over, I still draw them a lot. T ^T They're too much fun.
I was inspired a lot by Vanillaware's art for this. Everything they make is so gorgeous...

I love how the "Black King" is blue rather than directly black. That blue creates a nice complement when it is doubled up with that bronze colour on the White Queen. I love it.

Of Epic Proportions.
It really is, this drawing has emotion, personality, you can turn this into a story of struggle and pain so easily. I love it, I really do, it expresses so much feeling, so much power between the two without any explosions, energy pouring out, a wasted background that takes away from the characters themselves. This should have been a DD, really should be, I bet you could win.
