OK SO. EYESHIELD IS HOT. Just... so you know...My sister and I were up at the Kinkos the other day, and she was trimming some Bristol. And left over were these 3 x 17" or something scraps that were just begging for something neat to be drawn on them... so I resorted to fanart to take a break and indulge a bit.
First comes Rui... coz I <3 Rui. I'll probably be doing a whole bunch of these because there are too many Eyeshield charas to love. I seriously want to marry the artist. And the writer. That's allowed right??
Rui is (c) Eyeshield21. <3 Which you should totally read. I need more people to gush at about this series.

Oh god, I hate football, but this is the sexiest manga ever. I don't really like Rui (he scares me), but there's so much amazing in that manga, I LOVE KOTARO (he's smart!), too many lovable characters. I wish more people liked it too. So great, I can't wait for the next chapter. <3

Easily the best weekly shonen, Eyeshield totally rocks!
This is a dead on drawing of Rui, I love the attitude. ^^ Rui is a really cool character, although there are loads of cool characters in Eyeshield. I guess it's the fact that the teams are so varied and that no-one is really a bad guy, everyone just wants to win, that makes the series have so many good characters.
And no-one can draw action like Murata! His ability to convey a sense of movement and insane angles is amazing.

Es21 is one of the damn most awesome things I have read, I don't think any other comic has made me grip my chair and hyperventilate the hell out because of a FOOTBALL MATCH. also this is one of those mangas where I can't choose a favourite character, but like them all equally v_v

OMFG I KNOW. Hahahaha. The series is laced with crack too. It's impossible to stop reading. And I agree, there are way too many characters to like. Usually it's so easy to pick out a few that you like, but with Eyeshield I really have to sit and think a while - and then my list is like 20 people long.

I love ES21 as well, but when I try it in my style it just doesn't work (pro'lly the artist's style and mine just ain't compatible), but you just about nailed Rui's look.
Recycled? Why not? The size of the bristol board you used is perfect- it gives just about the right amount of tease (that didn't sound the way it did in my mind, but.. well.).
