I am actually not that big of a fan giving them 2 tails, but it has a good reason I swear haha.
There is a good reason, that I am not explaining yet (wouldn't be fun to spoil if i do end up doing something with it),
-that all replacement protags have unique looks to what species they are supposed to be.
(Ruka is the luckiest as it she would get mistaken for a shiny Eevee all the time, the rest not so much)

Formely named Guide, now Fynn as I couldn't think of anything better, got quite a bit of a change.
They are also not the human that appears in SPMD haha Rather it is a long while before they figure out where they are.

They are partnered up with a Banette that basically only joined them because he could feed off Fynns negative energy.
Eventually took pity on Fynn, because even for Banette that was a bit too much negativity even for him haha
They are best friends trust me, even when they only speak in insults with each other.

As canon divergence goes, it goes down heavily.
Like have you thought about how wrong things would go if the og human never befriends the partner, never gets the scarf and therefore never joins the research team?
Though Fynn isn't exactly a friendly or caring fellow, befriending anyone is a task doomed to fail, yet their unique appearances always catches attention.

Before SPMD events, Fynn is stuck on their own, a long side Banette gets involved into something that will only be refered as "Such and such incident",
and frowned upon when hearing that Fynn was involved solving it.
Depending on what story I decide upon for that "incident" I may add scars to the design of Fynn later.

Since I did mention it on one of the others, no Fynn cannot evolve even with the scarves.
