I made a concept in word, and later in photoshop and this is the result. I think it looks quite interesting and with a bit of work could turn into a awesome fullscreen rainmeter theme.
I'll need help with this, those who are familiar with rainmeter and are interested in this, plz contact me!!!
Technical info:
Just like the phone, the blue boxes will have hover effects and serve as either a shortcut or a info panel. I plan that there would be 12 switchable panels which show various innformation. The background will be tinted with a gradient getting more black to the left and more transparent to the right. Still not sure what to do with the items under "Friday", but Im thinking those will be usual readers and notes and stuff.
Of course there will be different color variations.
comments, opinions, suggestions are most welcome!
PS I know its in the wrong category, but I don't think i'd find many volunteers to help me if it were in desktop screenshots...

I used Soft 7, but for this desktop I'm pretty sure we'll need a more matching theme

Ooh, I see. Soft is very nice theme. Do you remember that I told you that Chrome renders pages in the same speed as Firefox? I was wrong. I measured on a several sites and results are very strange. On my Win 7 Ult Chrome with disabled DNS prefetching is much slower than Firefox. Strange!

Yes, I absolutely agree. 3 days ago I made a fresh install of Win 7 and the only browser I installed (except default IE8) is Firefox.

Looks intersting, but doesn't it hide when you press "show desktop" (or on aero peek)?
Cause that's what keeps me from using RM in 7

Ok, I reinstalled it and aero peek works fine indeed. But the configs still hide when pressing "show desktop"
Oh and this Windows Phone orb would fit perfect imo [link]

Just wow. I love this idea, even more than the idea of an actual WP7S! I love the fact that people are actually coming together and contributing to this beautiful and sure to be very functional project.

btw, I don't know if you remember this, but I was talking to you about Macs and how I don't like them. Turns out we're getting some for my Graphics class. I guess I'll see if I like Win7 or OSX better, for real this time.

Doesnt matter, there will be like 12 blue 150x150 squares, we'll need some ideas for more, but for now we need Weather and calendar to be done.

Weather and calender..
The Weather one is easy to program, hard because for every weather condition you need an image, and what must it do when you hover it?
The calender one, what do you want it do do (on hover and normal)

I have all the images for weather, they are from HTC Touch, I think they fit pretty well, I'll crop them to fit perfectly later.
The Calendar one, well, um, nothing? Just to show month and day, its very simple, you can code it if you want, ill take care of the hover effect.
