Description
Though she succeeded in escaping the Palace of Heaven after assassinating the Silent Sovereign, Xiu wouldn't evade capture for long. Captured by Fjordite Pirates, Xiu was brought back to the Palace of Heaven, bound in bindings not even she could escape. It was then Xiu was presented to Sun Jian the Inheritor, successor and nephew of the Silent Sovereign. The revelation of the Silent Sovereign's infidelity sent shockwaves throughout the power structure of the Long Dynasty. The entirety of his Imperial Court committed suicide out of shame for their inability to enforce the Diktat of Divinity and his wife and children abdicated their claims to the Celestial Throne. The Regents had to act quickly before word spread.

Thus young Jian was thrust onto the throne and the populace of the Long Dynasty were told that the Silent Sovereign and his family vanished. The boy's first order as Emperor was to find his uncle's killer and have the assassin brought before him. When the Fjordite Privateers delivered the shapely murderer to the Palace of Heaven, Xiu was more surprised to see Jian than he was to see her. During her training under the Spymaster, Xiu frequently served as a bodyguard for Jian when he was a child and he grew very of fond of her, blissfully unaware of his "big sister's" true purpose.

Now, however, Jian knew both Xiu purpose and her parentage. Anyone else would've had Xiu executed without a second thought. But Jian couldn't bring himself to kill someone who was a fixture in his childhood. That, and he knew he'd need someone with Xiu's skill in order to solidify his claim on the throne. Thus, Jian offered Xiu an Imperial Pardon and in return Xiu would serve as his retainer and main assassin. Having developed a soft spot for her cousin during her upbringing, Xiu accepted his offer.

Now Xiu is serving in the role she was trained from birth to fulfill. What was originally a vulnerable Emperor, ripe for exploitation, is now a secure position; guarded by the blades of Jian's retainer. Her next mission... is up to you!
