The dress is gorgeous. btw.
because of her age and yet the taking comfort in the dolls or attachment to the dolls, I wonder if some part of her is broken; like she is the broken doll between the two unbroken dolls. Her downcast eyes contribute to this perception of sadness. She seems so much larger and more solid than the porcelain, but the part of her that is broken and sad is even more delicate. I like the contrast that I'm finding here. Even if it's all in my head.
