This is a short gif of the map of my fictional world's tectonic history (as of 3/27/2023). This shows only the first 100 million years right now.

If you want to know how I learned to do this, I'd recommend Artifexian's recent series, which has just finished a section focusing on GPlates, a program used to model tectonic drift. Worldbuilding Pasta's blog also has a tutorial for using the program.

Update: GPlates crashed on me while I was making the next timestep... No big loss, I'll just do it again later.

Update 3/28/2023: Added the next timestep! Because this sequence now goes from 1000 to 850 million years ago, I am officially a quarter through the planet's past billion years of history. Edit: Huge miscalculation. 750 mya is the quarter mark...

Update 4/1/2023: Now I've officially completed a quarter of the planet's history! And that's no April Fool's joke, either, because this sequence now goes from 1000 to 750 million years ago.
