Every time Galiana cast a spell, she lost a little more of her humanity.

As a technological mage, she was giving herself over to the technology that she craved. She craved it for the power it brought her, and the control.

Each of her acolyte followers wanted what only she could give them, an everlasting existence. When the spell was cast they could become anything from a stiff Jointed highly durable wind-up woman, to a completely human looking android. They were all willing to be surprised with the end results.

What none of them knew before they received Galiana’s “gift” was that they would be completely under her control once they were converted. Certainly they could make choices, and when blending into society, they would typically act on their own. But Galiana could always program them or override their decisions, without them realizing it.

Trying to control the bodies of other women was wrong, and Galiana knew it. But the way Galiana saw it, if a government controlled by wealthy old white men could control the bodies of women, then why couldn’t she?

Galiana sometimes misses her hair, as it made blending in easier, and she sometimes wonders what will happen to her where there is no more humanity left and she tries a spell. Will she lose control of herself? Is she does, who will be in driving her actions, or will she only follow a program until the end of her mechanical days?

This is my entry into Chrissabug’s favorite spell contest.
I ran out of time so I did not get to polish and finish it as I would have liked. The full story also was left out.
