Description Most of these sketches were done quick and are pretty gross looking (in my eyes) because they were so rushed, but these are just concepts. I randomly got the idea recently to turn the Sonic cast into mythical beasts. They aren't very creative, but I kinda like them. I wanna redraw them at some point but who knows when that will be.

Sonic:
The most obvious one. Since Sonic's already kind of been a mythical beast, I didn't bother changing him into a different one. I mean, he's the werehog... why mess with perfection? My version is a little more irritable and really dislikes his personal space being invaded, but he's certainly not savage. Oh, and he's got a long fluffy wolf tail. Gotta have a long fluffy wolf tail.

Tails:
Another obvious one. Since he's already got one more tail than a normal fox should have, I figure I may as well slap six more on there. Why have Tails have eight tails instead of nine? Most depictions of kitsune I've seen are female. Since Tails is a boy, that makes him a weird case. So I figured I'd make him even weirder and make him one tail short of a kitsune. I think I've also read somewhere that foxes are supposed to gain tails as they get older and wiser, so you can take that explanation if you prefer. It's just a concept as of now, so the reasoning isn't solid just yet.

You may also notice letters by each of Tails tail tips. This is because in the game Okami there was a Ninetails boss that was able to split herself into nine fox-ladies. I don't remember too many details of the battle as it's been a long time since I've played Okami, but I DO remeber the Orochi battle very well. Orochi had eight heads, and each head had a different power associated with it. So, with Tails, I've combined the two bosses and made it so that he can split into eight versions of himself- each with a different power. The tail tips are different colors to indicate which power each Tails will have. The letters are just for my reference as originally the colors were to reflect the Orochi head colors, but now I'm considering making it so the Tails reflect my runes instead.

Cream, Vanilla, and Cheese:
Not a lot to say here. While looking up mythical beasts I found Skvaders and Wolpertingers. The wolpertinger looked like a fun creature to make a character out of which is what sparked this who project. Since Skvaders and Wolpertingers are so similar, it made sense to make them the Rabbit family. As for Cheese being a Wil o Wisp... it just made sense at the time.

Amy:
I always picture Amy as a mermaid for some reason. I don't know why- maybe it's the massive amounts of fanart of her as a mermaid. I don't really have a good reason for why she is one though. I just wanted her to be a mermaid.

Tikal:
Echidna is said to be the mother of monsters (in Greek lore) from what little info I've seen. She is described as being half woman, half snake and that's it. I had no other descriptive details to go off of.

But since Tikal is and echida, I figured it'd be punny to make her Echidna. If you think about it though, it makes sense. In Sonic Adventure, the Lost World level has snakes everywhere. I'm guessing that snakes were important to the Echidna Tribe somehow, so it's actually pretty fitting to make Tikal Echidna. The only change I'd make to Tikal as Echida is that rather than being the MOTHER of monsters, she's just the QUEEN of all monsters. Calling her the mother makes it sound like all the other characters are her babies or something...

I also had Knuckles as this rock/beryl golem, but the sketch was hideous so I ain't sharing it. If you have suggestions for other characters, let me know. I'm open to ideas.
