The already hot early June sun stood in the south of the sky, a sign that was about noon when the seaman’s boat swung under the overwhelming weight of something caught in the net.
That day was his turn, since morning he was set up with the boat with the net down, and the first fishing was average good.
Probably they were near a rich banchis, or the gods of the sea had decided to be kind.
In fact shortly after throwing the empty net back into the blue waters, it stretched out tilting the boat.
It had already happened that some dolphin or small shark would be caught. As far as they were animals, they were clever enough and they knew that near the boats, sailors often thrown waste at sea, so they could eat without hunting.
The seaman got up quickly to check, stretched his arms, grabbed the net, and started pulling.
In his young life he had heard of bizarre stories of sailors and pirates, distorted, surrealistic stories altered to surprise the curious listeners, but what he found in front of his eyes was certainly not easy to say without his menral health being questioned.
Immersed in his network, angry and hissing, a beautiful mermaid wiped out with great effort.
She had fine golden hair, pale skin, almost transparent, and from the waist down wonderful scales of the same turquoise shades of the sea covered a muscular caudal fin of considerable size for the minute figure of the creature.
Feeling pulled out of the water, the mermaid had turned on and on her face, already fatigued by the attempt to get rid of the net, had formed an unequivocal expression. Disdain, mixed with fear and repulsion.
