Fuernice lore and overview | Design Doc | TOS




As per my first version is everything I ever post this is going to be cleaned up with revisions and additions over timeaaAA

Mutations and Augmentations are traits considered abnormal to Fuernice physiology! Mechanically they're just fancy additions to spice things up. These traits will be limited mostly as event incentives and to give things for eventual activity rewards. They will probably pop up on adopts from time to time as well of course!

Lore wise you can give a prexisting Fuernice one of these traits after creation because Magic Is A Thing and body modification will always be hip and happening in Nov Basia. I tried to give some insight on like functionality within canon for some of these but I'll be honest these are mostly for aesthetic.

Anyways here's some additional words and design guidelines that probably won't fit on the main sheet.

Crystal growth

  • Color matches the ear crystals!
  • Please cover only up to 30% of the body.
  • You can indeed use these to make horns. They must resemble crystals in texture but can be whatever shape you desire. No limit on shape, you do you.


Wild Type

  • Wild types tend to have bulkier builds! But this is not something I'll enforce. 
  • More fluff/ longer fur also tends to be more common but again, up to you.
  • I'm not going to be too picky with how you interpret claws, Just so long as they are visibly more pronounced.
  • Teeth are much more sharp and pronounced in wild types if this was not evident.


Fire core

  • You absolutely can light things on fire like this if you are not careful.
  • I'd say about a fourth of the fuernice lifespan is lost if they have this?
  • Much like the smoke the flames can be burned as different colors!
  • Fire core fuernice can still produce smoke as well it's just a little more difficult.


Less or more vents

  • Fuernice have 12 vents in total normally, so you still need to have at least 2 vents somewhere on their body if you're going for less.
  • As fuernice do not breathe through their vents this really only affects smoke production.


Runic Markings

  • Getting these is basically getting a very pricey magic tattoo in canon.
  • Color does not need to match vents or crystals, I'd recommend it for cohesion though!
  • I don't have like... a Fuernice alphabet. so feel free to use any script you want. Or use a drawn image.


Colored Sclera

  • Any color you want man


Glowing eyes

  • any color is allowed but I recommend saturated colors.


Multicolored Vents

  • Same color rules as regular vents for additional colors.
  • As vent color is tied to crystal color this can be used to make multicolored crystal. Please note that crystals should not be "marbled" with these colors.
  • I recommend 'gradients' but it's up to you!


FREE TRAITS
aka you're welcome to do these things without taking up a mutation trait.
-Heterochromia in the eyes
-missing limbs and prosthetics
-non magic tattoos (I don't know how this works on a species with fur but shh)
-scars and such
