This drawing was a gift for my boyfriend.
We saw V for Vendetta together and loved it. 11 x 14
10-12 hours
various pencils
blending stump
q-tips
EDIT: The scan makes it look so grainy...I've tried it several times and this is the best I can do.

Wow, I'd never be able to draw as well as that! I really like the tonework. Anyway, I love the film and the comic, though the comic was confusing in places :S

I doubt I will ever get a chance to read the graphic novel, but I can imagine that it is confusing--I have to rewatch the movie in places to understand all the details!

that's so wicked. i have no idea what it is but hell its damn good. How do you do it? just like a photo and you can see motion in it and all. arrrrrr. You're too good. i'm gonna hide in a corner somewhere and not come out.

Thank you! As the title describes, this piece is just two characters from a movie. I love doing photorealistic stuff and this might be one of the better examples in my gallery. To do drawings like this, I use multiple references (one next to me, one on a screen, etc.) and try to have lots of patience!

Umm I don't think I did--I smudge on purpose with the blending stump and use erasers for everything else that shouldn't be smudged.

I have yet to read the graphic novel--I know, a shame. I enjoyed the movie so much that I think part of me is afraid of the differences I might encounter.

Hehe, yeah that is one of those things that is almost imperceptible on the original, but scanners can be cruel. On the reference, she really does have this glow around her, so to some degree I was trying to imitate that. Eh, oh well.
