Just read Attack on Titan (aka Shingeki no Kyojin) and OMG this guy is so fucking awesommmmeeee!!!! I was squeaking in excitement during the entire bit when he rampages against the other Titans. Sooooo satisfying!!Q^Q OOF, I want more chapters now!!!

You pretty thoroughly captured everything that defines Eren's titan form. The wide, toothy maw, the deep socketed eyes, the wild mane... He looks like a creature of pure rage. It's a simple design, but I wouldn't recognize it as anything but him.
The abstract steam lines were a nice touch. The whole image just screams with the fury he displays in the more dramatic moments.

I'm a huge fan of Godzilla style giant monsters, and just stumbled upon "Shingeki no Kyojin" ("Advance of Giants") ealier tonight.
I'm the co-owner of and would very much like to add related fan art to our giant monster centric group, but unfortunately, the majority of "Kyojin" fan art is not original, and simply taken from the original manga. With that said, am I to assume that this is original art?

FINALLY, some Titan Eren art that I can add to Kaijuden - thanks so much, and for the supposed 'lead hero' monster of the Manga, its an incredibly simple, but awesome design. I hear that there's supposed to be a "Shingeki no Kyojin" movie in the works, and a live action one at that.
Personally, an anime might have been a better idea as japan hasn't really done tokusatsu epics justice since maybe the 1970s, if not certainly the 1960s. But hopefully the Titans / Giants in the movie will be done with some very subtle yet disturbingly so, full-body make-up effects, with CGI only assisting the practicle effects, as opposed to a complete reliance on the latter method.

And yeah, I think an anime would be a better idea since Japan seems to stick to CGI a lot in live action films nowadays, and their CGI usually doesn't look very good....

I do love live action giant monsters, but yes, Japan doesn't do good CGI, especially in their 'supposedly big budget' effects films. Plus, an anime could have touched upon the original manga's brutality and tragic violence a lot better.
And again, I do hope that make-up effects are employed with the Titans, as it would be more natural, seeing how grotesquely human these things look. It's a similar situation I had with Glump from one of the Harry Potter films, or the upcoming "Jack the Giant Killer" movie, where the very human giants are done with computer animation.
Despite these misgivings, I'm still happy I stumbled upon "Advance of the Giants" and look forward to another giant monster project for 2013, alongside "Pacific Rim" and the TV series "Ultra Q Neo".
