rewinding back to the dead of winter,
Kiki's Family struggled a lot in the winter. With only their simple cottage and very little money, staying warm was a big struggle. Often they would huddle up together in order to conserve body heat at night, sleeping together in one big pile. But, even with all of them snuggled up to each other, the nights could still get dreadfully cold. Kiki would often sit and worry on these nights, her heart filling with love and protection over her little siblings. She just wanted them to be warm, she just had to fix it, she would do anything to keep Coco from shivering. Kiki would fill herself up with these feelings and emotions till her chest felt so tight and ready to burst,
and then the warmth would come.
The sting of the cold would lessen and heat would radiate off of her, keeping her siblings warm and comfortable. It was nearly a miracle! She was finally able to keep her family safe from the cold, seemingly by magic! But the magic wouldn't last. Kiki realized that, once she fell asleep as well, she would wake up to the same bite of cold from before, all of that magic warmth would be gone. She learned that in order to keep the warmth from dispersing, she had to stay vigilant and awake, not letting her mind wander from the task of protecting her family. As a result, Kiki would spend many nights awake to keep her family warm. As nights and days wore on, this would take it's toll on her, bags forming under her eyes. The magic warmth seemed to exhaust a part of Kiki that she didn't know she had. but for the sake of her brother and sister, she would suffer through, she would keep them warm.

Aaaaaaaaaaaa my precious babies! I have had this thought for a very long time now, Kiki accidentally stumbling upon fire magic through her intense emotions over her family freezing on her watch. I also thought it would be important that you can't do fire magic in your sleep, so Kiki would have to stay up and actively maintain the magic. Sacrificing her own needs for her family's sake, if that aint a Kiki thing to do I don't know what is.

I put so much effort into this, jesus. I think I really outdid myself here and I really hope it looks as good to everyone else as it does to me...
positioning all of those bodies together was quite the challenge, but I think I got it right. dude I even took the time to draw the grain of the wood and the texture of the wall brick. Added together, I'd say there is about two whole days worth of work here.
