Kithood (0 Moons) ::

Nectar was born to two cats whose names are unbeknownst to her, in the streets of multiple Twoleg dens. Poor Nectar was left to fend for herself, her mother chased away by vicious dogs right after her birth. Being the only kit to have survived the birth, Nectar had nothing to do but mewl. Make as much noise as she can to attract attention to herself. To ensure survival. And, that she did. A nearby elder Twoleg was caring for her plants when Nectar started to release yowls loud enough for the whole neighbourhood to hear. She gently picked up the kitten and brought her into her house, nursing her to health and deciding to keep her around.

Apprenticeship (1-23 Moons)::

When Nectar was getting older, she liked to goof around. A lot. She used to be let out into the forest by her owners multiple times, but knowing that she always had to come back was close to crushing. Nectar adored going berry picking and bird watching, but mostly she enjoyed breathing in the air. It was so.. pure. Liberating, even. It made Nectar feel at peace.. but she knew she could never survive in the wild all alone. It would be a death wish, even to a stubborn cat like her. Despite knowing this, though, she always came back and repeated the same activities over and over again.

Nectar had a few other kittypet friends, but her favourite was Spots. Spots was her best friend and he stayed with her through thick and thin. No matter where Nectar went, Spots followed.. except for when she went on expeditions into the foliage. He always said that it was too dangerous and that there are wild cats out there. Wild cats? What a stupid assumption! Nectar called his bluff and told him not to worry about it, continuing to venture into the woods. But, little did she know, this would lead to the best mistake she’d ever made.

Adulthood (23-42 Moons) ::

One day, as she was starting to head out, Nectar came across the body of.. a house cat..? No.. this creature was way too big to be a house cat. Whatever it was, it looked like it needed help. So, Nectar continuously called out to her Twolegs, begging them to help the stranger on her doorstep. Luckily, they soon came and dragged the wounded beast into their home, making sure to care for her with care. When she woke up, the imposing figure introduced herself. Manger. Nectar immediately felt something budding in her chest. A feeling of warmth whenever she saw Manger around the corner, or whenever she even uttered a word. It drove her crazy.

She spent every moment of daylight with the hybrid she-cat. She adored this cat more than anything or anyone else she’d ever met, and she wasn’t afraid to express these feelings. She even told Spots, who.. was quick to disapprove. He told Nectar that she was crazy and that she needed to get a grip on real life. The two argued for what seemed like an eternity, Nectar breaking it off as she rushed back home in tears. She sought the comforting touch of Manger for the next few weeks, dreading her interactions with Spots. She couldn’t believe he’d be so.. so.. cruel. Then again, it was nothing compared to what Manger had told her she’d lived through.

As the moons flew by, Nectar knew that the day of Manger’s imminent release was approaching rapidly. Faster than she’d hoped. And soon enough, that day came. Nectar’s Twolegs finally decided that Manger was healthy enough to be freed from her captivity, and so she was thrown back out into the wild. Nectar lingered at the border of the wooden fence surrounding her home, always hoping that she’d see Manger. She always received gifts from the molly and it warmed her heart. She wished she could just run away with Manger, and the other made it clear that she wanted that too, but Nectar was careful. She knew that if she did join Manger, her Twolegs would be heartbroken and she’d probably starve to death from her lack of skills. But, one day, she gave into her urges and followed her mate out into the wilderness.. and this time she wouldn’t return.

Nectar was then brought to a campsite that could only be described as demolished. The two she-cats came across the body of a cat that Nectar’s mate seemed to recognize, perishing to the elements. As Manger told the tale of the past, Nectar patiently listened. She gave her mate her condolences and made sure to express how good of a cat Roach must’ve been. But, despite the loss of Manger’s past friend, life moved on. Moons fly by, seasons changed, and Nectar was clearly not as good at hunting as she’d expected. Manger was doing all the work for them, and Nectar could barely even catch a mouse properly. Every waking hour, she practiced her stance and tried her hardest to improve, but as leaf-bare creeped around the corner, she realized that her mate’s health had been declining. Despite Manger shrugging off her issues, Nectar knew her mate. She tried and tried again to make Manger eat anything, but she’d never even dare.

One faithful day, Manger decided that enough was enough. She brought Nectar to a nearby barn filled with strange cats with an even stranger scent, and promised her that she’d find a place for them. With a heavy heart filled with hope and sorrow, the she-cat wished her mate luck as she touched noses with her. She watched as Manger fled the scene and felt herself biting her lip, fear overwhelming her at the thought of anything bad happening to her. But, she shook off her worries as she got acquainted with the cats in the barn. They were all surprisingly nice, with the exception of Vixen.. But, despite it all, Nectar began to learn how to hunt, this time having enough energy to practice properly. Plus, with all the talented cats with multiple skill sets, it was much easier to learn! ..no offence to Manger, of course.

But finally, after such a long time, her mate finally came back to her. After an extremely sentimental moment, Manger told her about a place with many cats and even more prey. A place worthy of home. Happily but with a twang of sorrow that she had to leave her new friends, Nectar and Manger made their way towards their new home, where their lives would forever be at peace. Together.
