Pippin really wants to get inside and looks to me as if asking if I could open up the drawers for him -which I won't do. Yes, it's mean Pip, but there's important documants inside I really don't want you chewing up or pooping on them.Related content

He is trying to use his cuteness on you. Clever bird. We used to have a mother sparrow that would always alert us if the feeder was getting low. I have a feeder hanging from the eaves of the window near me. When it starts to let go she comes and lands on the window screen and just looks at me, like , "Hey, you! I know you see me! look how cute I am? I can't believe you are forcing me to do this again. Don't you love me?"
Yeah, birds are a lot sarter than peple think.... except mourning doves. They always seem especially stupid compared to the rest of the birds that come, but they are comical to watch.

As for wild birds I have humming birds that will tap on my window if their feeder is empty or like your sparrow, peer into the window and stare at me for a few seconds.
