Final Panel to my Tenth Grade Quilt Project on Zora Neale Hurston's Their Eyes Were Watching God. The little white line is from my mom spilling water over the original and my having to cut out that part, pasting the rest onto a new sheet so I could continue to work.

“…love ain’t somethin’ lak uh grindstone dat’s de same thing everywhere and do the same thing tuh everything it touch. Love is lak the sea. It’s uh movin’ thing, but still and all, it takes its shape from the shore it meets, and it’s different with every shore.”

“The kiss of his memory made pictures of love and light against the wall. Here was peace. She pulled in her horizon like a great fish-net. Pulled it from around the waist of the world and draped it over her shoulder. So much life in its meshes.”
