Another beautiful lady from my collection of other, beautiful ladies. This one is a dragon that has taken human form. I imagine she is a ruler of some far of, hidden island, half bird half dragon. A bit like the Quetzalcoatl, the winged serpent. Her colors don't quite fit with it's usual depiction, but I did like the idea of a dragon that has both feathers and scales. Her clothes, particularly her gold chains were very much inspired my Aztec aesthetics too! I did however mix this with a more flowing aesthetic in her clothes then seems usual for depictions of Aztec clothing. Her coulours are kept in blue and coral colours, because I imagined her living in a somewhat tropical island setting and wanted to remind of those beautiful coral reefs. I can see that she hatched in or on top of one!
Obviously, because her aesthetic is so heavily inspired by the Aztecs I made her skin a dark brown. I first wanted to make her hair black, but I decided against that in the end and gave her a eyecolour/haircolour combination that no human would have, but that totally worked for a dragon closely associated with the sea. That's also while her tail branches out in the end. I wanted to give the impression of a coral, gently swaying in the water.
I imagine on that far away island she comes from she was revered as a goddess or a queen. I wanted to reflect that in her posture and general adornment with gold, but I also decided to give her horns whose shape and colour are reminiscent of a crown.
