Description     Legs crossed I wait, focusing my attention on nothing, clearing my thoughts, breathing. Darkness surrounds me, cold and lonely, but not unwelcoming. The darkness is what I know; I recognize its flow as the breeze plays across my bare chest. Stars blink overhead, clustering in shapes and designs as wisps pass by. Each star is someone else’s sun, warming them, energizing them, and breathing life into them. In the night I wait.

One of the specks brightens, growing to the size of a penny. Crossing the night’s sky, it descends, heading towards me, gaining strength and size. The light begins to take form as it approaches me. Passion emanates from it in waves, a being so hot it glows. A hand reaches out to take mine, pulling me up from the darkness, waking me from my sleep. The warmth floods through me, sparks dancing across every nerve.

“Without you this world is a nightmare, a poorly constructed fantasy, you are what makes it worthwhile.”
