Description A sequel to this map, just four years later on in canon: Map of the Greater Fendra Area, Year 1366

I used my out-of-universe concern that the countries in the first map were too large to effectively govern as an excuse to spark several civil wars, amicable political divorces, and national crises in-universe and bring things back down a level in scale, with the attempt at creating and maintaining such large, patchwork kingdoms seen in-universe as something of a failed experiment.

FENDRA: One-fifth the size of the original Fendra, and now even more tightly focused on the University of Pentacalpheon and the national glory it brings. One of the few countries in the region to move in a more republican direction: the heads of state, Magistrate Gilvon and Archchancellor Grellus, are in the process of creating a legislature, although it will likely be restricted to the middle-class and above: universal suffrage is still a bridge too far for this early-mid Renaissance world.

ANTONIA: All that's left for House Satrivus, perpetually on the edge of collapse, to rule over from Deulias. As with Fendra, the true seat of power isn't with the head of state, but with someone else: in this case the Pasinik family's mercantile empire based in Chudas. Convincing the tribal leaders of Nugaria to merge with the new kingdom was considered a political coup, as it keeps lines to major trading cities like Akubos and Arthecon much more open.

KONZERIA: The western region of the province formerly known as Gaspidis, this area had the most violent anti-reformist backlash in the Counterrevolutions of 1366, and is currently under the control of an ex-military strongman named Sionis Konzeros (never a good sign when someone names a country after himself, is it?) who is backed by the strongest local religious figures. Most of Konzeria is super-provincial farm country that has always felt a twinge of hostility toward big cities like Pentacalpheon and Arthecon, and is now letting it all come out.

EZEN: A combination of all of Athelle Province and most of Alphitor, which finally faced up to being too weak, depopulated, and undeveloped to remain independent. Athelle's most notable civic feature, a school for the training of mages in military-grade sorcery, remains the region's focal point.

LYRCON: I haven't really explored Lyrcon as a country yet, and odds are good it won't stay in one piece either. But for the purposes of this map, what matters is that the former province of Contor, devastated by a 1-in-3-mortality-rate insect-borne plague in the summer of 1358, never got back up on its feet, and eventually had to give up its independence just to maintain basic functions. The nobles of Contor traditionally intermarried with Lyrconian aristocrats, so it was a natural choice.

FERNU: Considered a poor fit to join the kingdom of Fendra at the time due to cultural and economic differences, the people of Fernu have finally gotten what they wanted, which is mostly to be left alone. Given the lack of strategic location or natural resources in this marshy region, they will likely get it.

DEBEGA: To the west and east of this area, Cornflowers outnumbered humans to such a degree that was agreed those territories be given over to them for self-governing. The remaining area was condensed and remained under human control. It's quickly developing a reputation as a haven for reactionaries and possible political conspirators, and maintains close contact with Konzeria.

ELPA: Still working on this one.

TZOUNIA: Went back to its pre-imperial name after a violent counterrevolution from the leaders of conquered tribes took the life of the king, his three eldest sons, and his most powerful advisor (a.k.a. the asshole who stumped for all the war and imperialism in the first place). The citizens are welcoming the national penitence under the dead king's considerably more competent daughter, as it also means no more jacked up taxes for yet another foreign excursion.

THE CORRELLAN ALLIANCE: A network of trading-centered towns and their hinterlands, of which Arthecon is the de facto capital. As one would expect, it's a materially wealthy country that walks a narrow line when it comes to keeping all of its creditors happy.

THE EASTERN RESISTANCE (not labeled): The most common name for a group of Konian nationalist diehards who have fled to the eastern half of Tazichim from their previous center of power in the king's court in Tzounis. No one knows what to expect from them yet, but it's probably not flowers and chocolates.

TLEMKIS: Much like the wilderness surrounding Debega, this island is essentially governed by Cornflowers. A noted center for the education and practice of healing magic.
