Ouch. That sucks. Um. Just keep an eye out for any attacks that cause one of those abilities (or abilities like it) and just keep trying. It takes a LOT of trys. It's like gambling. Only worse.

Well, I bought a DS specifically for Okamiden, but a friend of mine told me I should get Pokemon and I had a bit of a nostalgic attack. So far I love it! Haven't even touched Okamiden yet, but I can't wait to play it.

Did you change his status? I likely had my Blitzle paralyze him.

I didn't think to use my Blitzle. I didn't do anything to his stats other than paralyze. That might have been part of the problem.
