Description My name is Barabus.
I've cheated, I've stolen, and I've sinned.
And now, because of that I am in this dank, dark cell.
Imprisoned by those I have cheated and stole from.
I am expected to die for the sins I have commited.
But, wait, here comes the soldiers.
They are dragging a man in white.
They throw him in the cell next to me.
The soldiers leave.
Me and the man talk.
He tells me his name is Jesus.
I find out he has done no sin.
He should not be in a cell.
We hear a crowd outside.
They are shouting my name.
Why?
The soldiers come back.
They open my cell, and tell me to leave.
They tell me that the crowd got to choose who to let free.
They chose me.
I am free from my dark and depressing imprisonment.
I see they take Jesus, too.
But they take him down the other way.
They don't let him free.
The soldiers take me outside.
They let me go.
I start walking back to my home.
The place I have always felt comfort.
On my way back, I see Jesus again.
He is now bloody and nailed to a cross.
I go closer to see what's happening.
I hear him say, "It is finished."
I saw him die.
Why?
Why did this man die?
He has done nothing wrong.
It should be me up there.
But Jesus took my place.
My burden.
My suffering.
My name is Barabus.
And Jesus died to save me.
