Description "Finally, we're here!"

Hikaru, Kaoru, Tamaki and I had been walking through the streets to the graveyard, where the school had planned a game for Halloween as celebration.  The whole student body had come to the tall black gates that stood wide open.  A few of the braver male students had crept inside, although the total silence and large, eerie trees gave off a strong evil ambiance.  Tamaki had been complaining the entire way there about how long the walk was and how his feet ached so terribly that he wouldn't be able to run from the zombies.  Boy was I glad we finally made it, because as soon as we did he began flirting with the other female students there.

"I'm going to go make sure the Boss doesn't get too out of hand," Hikaru sighed, running after the blonde into the pool of females.

Kaoru shifted eagerly from one foot to the other, tugging my arm lightly.  "I can't wait for it to start!" he whispered, excitement showing plainly on his face.  I smiled. He's so adorable when he's all wound up like this.  His catlike eyes glowed in the semi-darkness, glancing around while speaking.  Who's he talking to?  Oh, am I supposed to be listening?

Suddenly a shrill whistle erupted from somewhere in the pack of people, and everyone began running through the gates into the darkness.  What???  WHAT'S GOING ON?  "AAAAAHHHHH!!!" I screamed along with the other students, being shoved into the gates and tripping over my feet.  The long hair of the females rushing by me caught in my mouth.  BLECH.  Where did Kaoru go?  What the heck am I supposed to be doing???

Someone grabbed my hand and pulled me along.  I glanced up to see Kaoru's gleaming face, happier than a child at Christmas.  "C'mon!" he shouted over the screams.  "We have to run from the monsters, or else we're out!"

So I followed him, zig-zagging through the graves and into the thick wooded area behind them.  As the number of trees grew, the graves became sparse, and the screams of students quieted and soon diminished.  "Kaoru," I whispered, half from being quiet and half from lack of air, "where are we going?"

"I have the perfect place!" he replied, glancing back at me.  I only knew this because his golden eyes shone through the darkness.  "We're almost there!"

I desperately needed to rest.  Panting on after him, with his hand tugging at mine when I slowed down, I prayed that we would reach our destination within the next two minutes.  Otherwise I'm gonna pass out, I thought.

Suddenly I tripped over a large tombstone, laying alone in the middle of the forest.  I fell flat on my face with my legs dangling over the other side of the rock.  Oh my gosh.  Dirt in my mouth.

Is that...  Is something crawling around in there???

"Hey are you ok?"  I heard Kaoru hurry to my side, pulling me up and brushing me off as I spat furiously and wiped my tongue on my sleeve.  Way to go, moron.  Just embarrass yourself like you always do.  "I'm fine, thanks..."  Then I noticed my hand.  A cut extending from my thumb to my wrist.  "It's just a cut," I tried to explain when Kaoru's eyes found it.

"It's bleeding a lot!" he exclaimed.  "Here, let me-"

A laugh directly by my ear.  "AAAAHHHH!!"  I tried to run instinctively behind Kaoru, but I found myself being pulled back by pale, paper-white hands.  "KAORU WHAT THE HECK IS-"  But now my mouth is covered.  Why can't I see anything?  WHAT IS THAT ON MY NECK???  WHAT IS WITH THIS CRAZY SCHOOL I JUST WENT BECAUSE THE CLUB DRAGGED ME ALONG I DIDN'T WANT TO WAKE UP ANY SPIRITS I HONESTLY DON'T EVEN WANT TO BE HERE PLEASE DON'T KILL ME OR HAUNT ME-

I hear Kaoru shouting and see him running towards me and my assailant, but the male is pulling me quickly through the trees into the dark.  NO!  NOOOOOOO!

A voice whispered into my ear as the male tugged me behind a tree.  "Let me suck your blood..."  It was low, seductive, and I felt teeth graze my neck.  Ohhhh, I get it.  I've been caught by one of the teachers playing as a Halloween character!  I'm out!  I don't have to stay in this mind-screwing game anymore!

And then the arms released me and I felt his presence removed from behind me.  What?  NO I wanted to be done with this so bad!  I turned around, about to call the guy back to bite me so I could leave, but instead found him on the ground and Kaoru standing over him, panting.

It all clicked in my head.  Woah... "Kaoru, did you-"

He interrupted me.  "Yeah.  So now you're still in."  I guess he saw the shocked look on my face, because he hurriedly continued, "The rules say we can beat up the monsters, don't worry!  They're actually a combination of personal trainers and boxers and people like that.  They get this every day."

"Oh..."  Dangit.  I still have to play.

The smile returned to his face.  "You ok?"  I nodded, and the devilish luminosity of his eyes returned.  "Good, then let's go back to my hiding spot."

We were speed-walking back onto our original course.  All the while I was thinking about how I wish Kaoru weren't so physically fit, or maybe that he hadn't saved me from the mob of students...  Please someone just get me out of here...

Kaoru stopped in front of an ENORMOUS pine tree, with many limbs perfect for climbing nearly all the way to the top.  His grin returned, stuck onto his face.  "This is it!" he said.  He bent down and held his hands together, offering me a leg up.  "After you."

I smiled, lifted my leg up to his hands, and hoisted myself onto one of the lower branches.  "Thanks, Kaoru," I whispered as I climbed higher.

I heard him rustling on behind me, close at my feet.  We climbed about three quarters of the way up, and then stopped, sitting side by side on connecting limbs.  The moon excreted it's pale light on us, and I could finally see Kaoru's face.  It was rather close to mine, just staring at me.  I think.  Even with the moon, it was still quite dark.  I scooted a little to my right and blushed, glad that the light was not bright enough for him to see.  But when I turned back, I saw he had moved closer to me again.  His golden-yellow eyes were shining solemnly and his nose almost touched mine.  I felt his breath on my face.  "You could lay your head on my shoulder if you want," he whispered.  I could've sworn I saw a light blush crawl across his nose, and felt my own face heat up.

"Thanks," I whispered back, and rested my head in the niche in his neck.  He inhaled sharply, and I felt his arm wrap around my shoulder.

"You warm?"  I heard him ask.  I nodded.  "Good.  They blow the whistle when they can't find anyone else.  The last people get prizes.  We can share ours."  I nodded again, feeling the blush creep down my neck.  All I could see were the trees through the pine nettles.  On and on, green... and the white of Kaoru's pale neck...
