I've been way too indecisive on this project, but I like this color scheme along with the other
.Please comment if it is too dark.

WOW!!! A DAILY DEVIATION!?!?!?!? I thought something was weird when I got a massive number of messages. Thanks a bunch and for the suggestion and feature.
Just recently put sig in, I already saw it on one site without my permission, I apologize if anyone is disappointed by this.

it is not too dark, it gives it more feeling. combine that with the firey look of sad determination in the eye it works very well.
almost like there is something that has to be done, and he doesn't want to do it but he also knows that if he doesn't do it it will not get done, and it must be done.

I Really love this piece...the textures and shadows aren't to dark I feel, and if they were lighter it would probably ruin the over all mood of it...so its practically perfect the way it is....I envy your skill

Wow, just wow! Talk about an art jump, Phil! I love love LOVE this piece. The gradiented background fits the mood of the robot giving him a more personality-based feel. The coloring you have done is jaw-dropping!
Only crit I have is the shine takes away from him being a "stone robot". I believe the texturing was spot on though.

I gotta learn how to make my own brushes...it'd probably be very helpful. It's nice to have a new technique to try

draw your brush. Edit - define brush preset, and go to your brush palette to fix it up and save.

Okay...I suppose I should look at some tutorials to get the effect I want out of the brush...like clothing textures and whatnot I still have little idea on how to do them...

use a brush made of a few dots, with a scatter and angle jitter.

Just out of Curiosity, Its mainly because i want to start Paintings/Airbrushing, What Tablet do you recommend and what should I use Photoshop or Corel Painter?
And Also out of Curiosity is there anything else that i may need to produce wonder designs like this?

When it comes to the tablet, i'm only using a graphire 4, 6x8. I'm not sure what type to recommend. The best kind would be larger with additional features such as pen tilt and some other things.
As for help with your style, go to [link] and go to either downloads or workshops, they got some sweet tutorials. The expose' books are awesome to use. Lately ive been using the gnomon workshop DVD's, if you get a chance, try to rent it from a library if they have it in stock.

I prefer this one to the brown one- this one's tonal range seems extended just a bit more, and the added contrast is also beneficial to the image.
The subtle increased reflecting light on the shoulder is very effective.
I would figure it could be used somewhere on the face as well, since the face seems a bit flat in comparison to the rest of the image.

hmm, I thought the face was stronger, I see what you mean. I might go in and add it in a bit, depending on if I get lazy or caught up in another project
