Description
The purpose of this assignment was to explore the possibilities and obtain a better understanding of typography. In order to fully utilize typeface for this course, it will be necessary to understand the ideas surrounding type, and to be prepared to stretch the boundaries and think of new possibilities to combine, mold, mutilate, and play with type in order to achieve the desired effect.
For this project I mainly focused on placement and alignment. I played with combining different fonts within one composition. Kerning the letters closer together and creating a flow, from one letter to the next is the overall theme that i put behind the letters that compose my initials. I also played with form to see how different typefaces had could suggest letters and forms. For example, the script font is composed of only a "J" and an "S," but the loop of the "S" resembles a lowercase "a" in the same style.
