Somehow I like the dark second panel best. It looks a bit like these "night shots" in documentaries.

Do you seriously draw/paint every single frame individually?

Finchwing In reply to ShadowCatPawprints [2016-10-24 17:49:03 +0000 UTC]
yeah O: they were PMVs tho so no animation! Otherwise I would've died having to paint every frame

Oh yea right haha These are incredible though aaaaa
But when you do map parts like Satisfied for example, I see the time lapses and I'm all like *holy crap is she painting in every detail of the face individually for each frame
and I'm just constantly in aw of how smooth the animation is.. if you don't mind me asking, what do yo use to animate/edit and how much did it cost? (I'm so sorry for being annoying and I know tons of people probably ask these things )

Hello! I am not Finchwing, but I am pretty sure that I can answer this question, with my bit of knowledge about the topic. Correct me if I am wrong, because I might have misunderstood your question.
Finch rarely paints animations from what I've seen, but these were frames in PMVs (Picture Music Videos) parts, which wouldn't take as long to paint as if they would if they were actual animations. In animations, I've seen that Finchwing often shades with a simple gradient, because painting every frame would take way too long. So yes, the artist painted all the frames, but they were only about 6-7(I never counted them so I'm most likely wrong. Thing is they're not even close to the number of frames you find in animatios) so it wasn't too much to do.
I'm sorry if I repeated myself, I tend to do that quite often when explaining things to others.
I hope my answer helped you and please do not hesitate to correct me if I didn't understand the question. I'm just trying to help out not to confuse you more.

Me and my best freind want to be awesome animators and artist one day like you; we both share this deviant art together so we can post things together, because we don't want to do it alone mostly for the fact that we are a little nervous. Any tips for drawing? And what do you recommend using for animating?

she has a video on her youtube that shows good beginners programs including pencil and gimp. In my opinion, firealpaca is also decent I like the power the program has for something free but it's not the best thing ever for animation. Good for simple stuff, though.
Make sure you do lots of anatomy studies, skeletal structures, basic shapes, and things like that. Drawing cat skeletons was my first step to really improving as an artist
sorry for comment stalking lol

Love the gorgeous shading and colors! <3 You're style isn't something I've seen before which is refreshing for once.
The only thing that I'm a bit bothered by is the proportions of the head compared to the body but I guess that's because I love drawing closely tied to anatomical appealing drawings.
But hell, it's just your style and I can say for sure that you've done great. Keep up the good work lad.

I love the amount of detail you put into your PMV drawings! The "polygon" style looks super nice!
