is jealous. I am having the worst possible time with pastels ever. I have no idea why they keep going wrong...

It takes a lot of practice. What kind of primer are you using? I found that using a layer of acrylics as a basecoat, then sealing it, then adding the pastel detail works best.

I think that's how I planned on trying my next horse just to see if it worked better. As far as primer- i tried Krylon Fusion for plastics and plain white spray paint. They seem to go on fine. It's not until I have a few layers on that I notice how gritty it looks. :/

I love that model!! The face is so detailed. I have this model as Azul, a blue roan with brown face, and he was my very first Breyer. Now at least 1/3 of my collection of over 300 are Breyers because of him. It took my parents forever to catch on that I hated baby dolls and like Barbie dolls only because they could ride the horses.... And then they bought me Azul.
