Description This is long overdue.

I used various references to put *Nelleke 's face together in this drawing (hence puzzle).

It's not as good as Rollercoaster Pencil , but I've exerted more imagination here.

Hope you like it.

EDIT: Sept 10
I felt I rushed too much into submitting this one and didn't give myself the time to scrutinize my work. I retouched some shadows tonight, added a little more depth in some areas so the highlights would show.

Frankly I don't think I got her face right, but she is nevertheless as beautiful as the reference photos.

H, 2B pencils, smudge stick, tissue and some prayer for courage

..aaaand some digital editing to remove the nasty spots on my paper.

Impressively done! The detail is simply amazing, ^^

I don't understand how people use those pencils! T^T... My weapon of choice is a mechanical pencil with 0.7 #2 lead... Constantly switching between pencils like that would be such an annoyance... How do you do it?

I used to think that way, especially seeing a great pencil artist's comment that says "I used 2H, 3H, H, HB, 3B, 6B and 8B" and I kept thinking "WTF, they actually use those H pencils?" 'til I discovered as I tried to develop my shading skill, that H pencils are just as essential as their darker B counterparts. It's much easier for me now (I hope I could explain this right) that if I require to shade skin tones and I need a base tone (the lighter tone), H pencils will do the job right without me having to worry about this portion is darker than that portion and such. Then I'd just apply a darker pencil for the shadows and what-not's.

I started with just my HB mechanical pencil, then I bought 3B and 4B. But when I realized I needed lighter pencils, I started to buy H, then 2H. Now my collection ranges from 4H (my lightest pencil) up to 8B (my darkest). But lately I've been using just my 2B 0.5 mech and any choice of H pencil, and my HB 0.3 mech for the fine lines.

Oh boy I really bored the hell out of you, didn't I? Sorry about that

No no, you didn't bore me, it's fascinating to see what art can come out of what tools. I love to listen about how someone can make their art as amazing as this one...
