Donatello awoke with a pounding head, he groaned as he slowly pushed himself up and rubbed his tired eyes. He sat back in his chair and closed his eyes again. He had fallen asleep at his desk last night, he couldn't even remember what he was doing. Slipping into deep thought he was just about to fall back asleep when he heard his lab door open and someone walk up behind him. He sighed happily when he felt a small gentle set of hands connect with his shoulders and lightly begin to kneed the tense muscles. He melted into the touch, knowing exactly who it was,

"You should stop falling asleep at your desk and actually go to bed at night" you scold softly, "You look exhausted"

"I could say the same to you" he mumbles sleepily, "you fall asleep at your desk all the time" he says with a slight hint of amusement

You giggle softly, "Yes, but you carry me to bed when I do...I can't carry you, you're too heavy"

He chuckles, "Don't worry about me (y/n) I'm a big turtle"

"You should know by now I care too much not to worry about you" you reply softly and lean forward, kissing his temple.

He smiles, opening his eyes to meet yours, "Come here" he says softly and pulls you around to take a seat in his lap. You curl up, resting your head against his chest under his chin. He wraps his arms around you and holds you gently as he runs his fingertips up and down your back. "I don't want to lose you" he whispers, his heart aching with the knowledge of what could happen to you tomorrow night.

"You won't" you whisper back and look up at him, "I'm here to stay" you say gently stroking his cheek, "What do you want to do today?" You ask and he smiles softly,

"Just stay with you" he says contently, "I don't care if we stay like this all day, I just want to hold you" he says softly

You smile and lay your head against his chest again, "Then just hold me" you whisper relaxing under his touch.

And that's exactly what he did

Later that night, Don was in the shower after a long and ridiculously intense practice. He leaned against the wall as the hot water ran over his aching body. He and Raph had gotten into a brutal spar, not unlikely or uncommon but Don wasn't able to keep up like usual. Taking a nice beating from his brother before Splinter called for the match to end. Raph flashed him a look of frustration, and just by looking into those emerald eyes Donatello knew that Raph sensed something was wrong with him. He refused to make eye contact with his brother the rest of the practice.

Donatello sighed heavily, he knew Raph would be jumping his shell to figure out what his problem was. Any time any of the brothers were off their game, Raphael was always the first to take notice and say something.

"Yo Donnie, you still in here?" Raph called as he entered the bathroom.

Aaaaaaand there it was, Donatello silently sighed, "Yeah, do you need me?" He asks, not moving his position

"No, just wondering where you went" he says casually as he walks over to the shower stall next to Don and turns on the water.

Since the brothers always argued over who would shower when, Don had designed four stalls and installed them into the bathroom so their ridiculous arguments could stop... Unquestionably the best idea he ever had.

"So, you alright?" Raph asks, "You've been...off"

Donatello was a bit taken aback by his gruff brothers soft tone, "Off?" He asked, sounding like he didn't even understand the concept of the word

"Yeah you seem kinda... depressed...everything okay?" Raph asks sincerely

Don thinks a moment... Falling silent as he debates on telling Raph or not...Would he understand? He really couldn't keep doing this alone...

Raphs voice filled the silence as Don thought, bringing him back to reality,"I know you and (y/n) finally got together...is it not what you thought it'd be?"

"Oh no no no it's great!...she's great...that's perfect" he says quickly with a small smile that quickly disappeared, "It's not that at all it's just..." He trails off, "Raph you'll think I'm crazy if I tell you" he almost whispers

"Well...youve told me some pretty ridiculous stuff in the past...yet here we are" Raph replies, still speaking in the same soft tone, "If you don't want to talk about it, I understand man but...I think it'd help if you told someone what's happening in that big brain of yours"

Don smiles a bit, this was the side of Raph no one got to see...the gentle side. The side of Raph that only appeared when he knew his family was hurting and needed him. Right now, Raph knew Don needed him.

Raphs water shuts off and he appears in front of Don's stall as he dries himself off. "I'll take your silence as a no" he says, "But if you need me, or Leo, shell even Mikey...we'll listen to you...you know that, right?" He asks as he studies his tall brother

Don shuts his own water off and grabs his towel, "Yeah...yeah I know Raph" he says and offers him a tiny smile,

Raph simply nods then ties his mask back on and turns to leave. He's almost out the door when Don finally calls out to him,

"Wait!....wait...." He yells to him, he had to tell him...he had to...

Raph turns around, concern lacing his bright green eyes. He slowly shuts the bathroom door and walks back over to Don.

Donatello takes a seat on the bench near the showers, "I-I..." He takes a deep breath, "Please just hear me out, okay?" He says quietly,

Raph takes a seat beside him, "Alright" he says gently, "What is it?"

"This is going to be a lot to process... Because I can barely process it" he looks up at Raph, "Tomorrow night we'll be ambushed by the Kraang, the building we're on will collapse...and I'll be injured" he says, "I won't move in time and (y/n) will go down with me as the roof caves in. I won't be conscious enough to move on my own and you'll come to my aid. Leo will call a retreat and you'll pick me up, running to the exit while Mikey and Leo hold off the Kraang...A bot will see you...charge up its laser...and fire. (Y/n) will take the hit for you...and she'll die...(y/n) is going to die tomorrow night" he says, trying to hold himself together,

"Is....this some kinda dream you keep having...?" Raph asks slowly,

Don shakes his head no, "I'm Donatello.... But I'm from six months in the future..." He says

Raph frowns, "...Did I hit you too hard at practice...?" He asks slowly

He sighs heavily, "See...I knew you wouldn't believe me" he says in frustration and stands up, "Just forget it" He mumbles and starts to leave

Raph grips his brothers wrist tightly to hold him in place, "Woah Woah Woah...I'm sorry look I believe you just sit back down" he says gently

Donatello is a bit taken aback at first but slowly does as his brother says, "You believe me...?"

He nods, "You seem pretty upset...and you wouldn't lie to me Donnie...I believe you as crazy as it sounds..." He says softly, "I do...I promise Donnie"

Don smiles a bit, "You do?"

"Yeah" he nods, "So...Shes..."

"Going to be shot by a Kraang droid and die..."

"How do we stop it?"

"I...I'm not sure but...we have to...we have to stop it"

Raph nods and places a hand on Don's shoulder, a serious look on his face, "Then we will"

A gentle knock comes at the door, "Donnie" You call

Don looks at Raph, dead serious, "You can't tell anyone, especially her" he say

Raph nods, still serious, "I won't" he claps Don on the back of the shell, "We'll figure something out man, it'll be okay"

Donatello stands up, "I hope you're right" he mumbles as he goes to the door, "Hey, sorry...Raph and I were just talking" he smiles when he sees you standing there looking up at him

You take his hand, "That's okay" you say and take him to the lab, "I just wanted to get your opinion on this thing I was wo-" Don cuts you off as soon as the doors shut securely behind you. He interrupts you with a kiss, pulling you close and cupping your cheek gently in his hand.

Your face heats up in a blush as you slowly wrap your arms around his neck and return the kiss

"I love you so much" he whispers before kissing you again

You smile, humming happily before you pull away, "I love you too" you whisper softly before reconnecting your lips to his once again.

Donatello was filled with an undeniable urge to be close to you, he was horrified maybe...maybe...this would be his last night...or maybe...he could fix this. Truth be told he had no clue how he would get back to his normal conscious... How he could get back to his life again. What if he-

He forced his thoughts to stop as he pulled you tightly against him, he would worry about that when the time came. Right now he should cherish the moments he had left...however few they may be...
