Description
Okay, so I'm FINALLY done with this piece. It's more of a conceptual piece, but on the other hand, it took me probably about 20 square hours to finish... So, yes, I put a TON of work into all of the tiny details.Although I'm sure I could've done a little bit better, I'm pleased with the outcome.
I created twenty-five brushes for just this picture alone.
Just a note: The thing that looks like a dbad attempt at a river leading away from the eye, is actually a waterfall. Also, the buildings are all different size, and not equal to each other.

it looks amazing. The waterfall looks awesome, i love the way you drew it and how the river is glowing. The building look perfect the way they are. They don't need to be equal. The dragon is just stunning, you can really see the detail that you put into it and the whole picture.

A mother thinks about her children day & night, even if they're not with her. A mom loves her children in a way that they will never understand. A mom will be there for her children when no one else will. A mom will take a bullet, stand in front of a train, & ask God to take her instead of her child. If you have children that you love as much as I love mine post this as your status.

Like the atmosphere of the picture. The sky looks so ominous and dark, while the bright colour of the dragon catches the attencion as well as the glowing water.

I've gotta say, the colors on the dragon and the shading are wonderful! the detail put on the rock is amazing, since i'm one who can't even compare to that yet. Also the building in the background reminded me of tron automatically which leads me to ask: what is the building for?

First, I have to thank you very much for your kind words. Second, the buildings could possibly represent the difference between good and evil. There's a white building down in the magical, glowy, water, although it's kinda hard to notice. The buildings in the distance are black, and perhaps they represent evil.
The back story I was kinda conceptualizing in my mind as I was drawing it was that maybe this dragon stole that magical stone that he has in his talons, and that only he knows it's true purpose.
The white tower was safe-guarding the stone, but the dragon stole it or regained it because only he knows it's true purpose, and wants or needs to use it for that purpose. The dragon, of course, would be ancient, and thus, could use it. I don't know. That's just the initial story I put into. I mean, if someone was willing to create a story for it, that would be really awesome!

So it's a stone?!
I first thought it was flashing magic of some sort while etching more glyphs into the rock face like the ones next to the dragon.

anytime. it was too cool to not comment on.
that actually makes sence. I hadn't noticed the tower down below. the back story makes a lot of sence and goes really well with the picture.

Thank you! When I did the tendrils, I just used the Linear Dodge (Add) mode to creat that vividness in the colors. It takes years and years of practice! Learning on your own is the best way to learn, but I still have TONS to learn, and I'll never stop learning.
