These two are probably my favorites. Ferretweed and Foxpounce fell in love once they met when they were kits, and could never be separated. Foxpounce (Foxpaw at the time) prevented Ferretweed/Ferretpaw from being a medicine cat because of Ferretpaw’s extreme anxiety. They become warriors, and have kits. Flamekit and Smallkit. Smallkit dies two moons after his birth, due to a heart problem. Flamekit is the only one left.
There is a massive flood due to the increase of rain. Ferretweed and Foxpounce went on their normal hunting patrol to hunt land prey, such as squirrels. Ferretweed chases a squirrel and it gets too close to the raging river. He slips. Foxpounce saved Ferretweed… But died saving him.
Flamekit gets apprenticed as a medicine cat soon after, but Flamepaw always blames Ferretweed for her mother's death. During her apprenticeship, probably two or three moons after Foxpounce's passing, Ferretweed takes Flamepaw to the Moonstone, stopping in Windclan territory to talk. Flamepaw listens to Ferretweed share his story, and soon her tail wraps around him, saying; “I’m sorry.”
They are probably my favorite side characters in my story, Ferretweed’s character arc is one that makes me feel sad everytime to be honest. Just having someone so close to you die is something that is a weak point of mine.
