Description I certainly have many reptile species that are dear to me, but perhaps none moreso than the Komodo Dragon (Varanus komodoensis), the largest lizard in the world. Everything about these creatures is incredible, from their size (up to 3 meters or 10 feet long) to their venom (the whole "bacterial infection kills prey" theory is false), and even their brains. Like all monitors, the Komodo Dragon is very intelligent and possibly even capable of problem solving, especially when food-motivated.

Komodo Dragons are gigantic, sure, but they're actually a smaller version of their "true potential" from the region. From Flores and Australia we know related species, if not the same species reached absolutely GIGANTIC sizes and I cannot even fathom their inherent fearsome-ness.

Personally, these creatures mean an absolute ton for me in so many ways. For one, I grew up in Honolulu and went often to Honolulu Zoo which actually had a breeding population of Komodo Dragons so to an extent I actually grew up with these creatures in a way. One of the only fights I've had with my cousin is when he didn't wanna go to see the "Komo-Komo Dragons" when we were four years old hahahaha.
