This is the ventral perspective view of one of my original designs, the Meritax Class Destroyer.

Basic Description:

The Meritax Class Destroyer, designed and used by The United Empire of Dimensions as part of their initial generation of combat starships. The Meritax at first glance may seem to be a fairly large ship with a length of exactly 1,000 meters, however it's other dimensions prove it to be only mid-sized, with a draft of only 120 meters at the highest and lowest points, with a beam of 560 meters including the engine nacelles. The Meritax's main fleet role is to act as a fast and maneuverable sniper, able to engage ships much larger than it, as well as besiege space stations. To do this the Meritax mounts 2 prow fixed Super Heavy Plasma Cannons, 3 C-Type Photon Torpedo Tubes, likewise in the prow, 4 C-Type Photon Cannons, and 8 Single Heavy Plasma Cannons. While the main focus of Destroyers such as the Meritax is engaging larger targets, the Meritax has a respectable secondary battery of 14 Dual Medium Plasma Cannons to fend off similar sized ships that get too close. For close-in defense it mounts a fairly sparse 23 Dual Anti-Proton Flak Guns, making it reliant on Point Defense vessel escorts and fighter coverage. In addition to it's diverse weapons compliment the Meritax is equipped with two hangar bays mounted on the ventral hull of the midsection, giving them a total compliment of 40 Starfighters of X1 T-Wing Fighter/Bombers. The Meritax also makes use of two engine nacelles, each housing 3 secondary Ion Engines and the main EM Repulsor Thruster assemblies for the ship's maneuvering capabilities.
