seems like either a projection of interest on the part of the viewer, marking the other with their lust, or a deep ingrained feeling of someone's own feeling or past feelings, having left a permanent scar on them.

His face is too "eh" or "I'm modeling right now". It has no feeling or emotion to it. And with it so much in the spotlight (almost literally) it really draws away from any meaning anyone can pull out of it even for themselves.

A lot of people will favorite a good look person or something that looks like scars cause it's "morbid and cool" but I'll give you my honest opinion. It feels like there could be a solid concept here but the right model isn't just a pretty body. They need to capture something and make the viewer believe it. I just don't feel that with this particular model. Stellar body, but his expression just kills this.

And you're welcome. I'd like to thank you for taking it as constructive criticism and not what many people on here see as "hating". Having a different viewpoint or negative view of something doesn't make it hate. I'm glad you can see that. I look forward to seeing more of your work though

I guess if I succeeded in opening dialogue about my work with someone though, then the picture served its purpose

The concept was that of contempt for the viewer, that's why I had him make no expression, this image was originally supposed to be more dehumanizing (the original shot had the model's face removed) when I reshot it I did so because it seemed too planned, this one needed to show my disregard for the interest of my viewers, So yes, you still missed the point of intent, but glad to see you derived some meaning from it, even if that meaning was unintended.

I spent the least amount of time on the actual application and shooting of this image, but the most on the planning, from the colors I'd use to the lighting, I raised my light 2 inches to increase contrast and flatten his visible face.

The makeup was done intentionally across his perfect abs to destroy them, and yet, still people see the beauty to it, which if you read the description was not my intent

Hopefully you stick around, I plan to drive the point home that I make art for myself

I love the concept, and gorgeous model as well- his expression really gets me.
and also, I love that it's more natural; a bit of hair is always good /shot/
the lighting is amazing, and the lettering looks great, if slightly painful (I'm wondering how you did that as well).
all in all, amazing.

Actually I really liked the rest of the series (love is my favorite one) but decided to comment on this one because I rarelly get "lusty" thoughts inspired by an image featuring a man ... And I think very few people can actually capture the sexy side of a man without making it look distasteful. Either way I love your work, very inspiring and I appreciate that you actually took the time to read and respond my comment ^.^
