Description
"An electrician before the war, and communications technician during it, Caliper first came to me under orders from his commanding officer. Suffering from stress-related involuntary mode change, he had to be removed from the front lines as a liability. After consulting with Ratchet, we stumbled on an issue unforeseen. The problem wasn't psychological at all, but rather was mechanical in nature. Caliper's transformation cog, while fully functional, was inverted. He wasn't involuntarily changing into vehicle mode at all. He was being forced to hold his "alternate mode" to the point of cog burnout in order to appear "normal". Now that the war is over he's joined the crew of the Lost Light, wanting to get away from all the violence and drama of life on Cybertron."-Excerpt from Rung's personnel report and crew psychiatric evaluation 114 of 208
Since MTMTE 1 and the introduction of Rigor Morphis , I've been intrigued by the idea that a Cybertronian might be biologically preferential to one mode in specific. We've had plenty of guys who loved their alt. modes so much that they'd prefer to stay in it forever, but not one who needs to.

Curiously enough, that was what Rattrap was going through in Beast Machines. Specifically, when it was planned that he went through this arc of recovering from a debilitating transformation glitch, which would've been used in Beast Wars back in the day.

Very clever! I love seeing the world-building ideas Roberts created in MTMTE expanded upon, and this is a very innovative choice in that vein. Well done!
