Description The second-to-last partner, a Buster Beetle from Super Mario Bros. 3!
After filling in and falling in the massive sinkhole outside the Mustard Cafe, Mario and company hear the bending of metal and groaning. They reluctantly move forward, the noises only getting louder and louder. Eventually, they enter the room where the noises are coming from, only to see a beetle doing reps. He asks Mario to spot him while he does various exercises. After that, he shows off his proudest talent: throwing giant blue bricks! This feat of strength opens up a new path, which inspires Nero to join the party. Nero is a beetle obsessed with self-improvement but always gives strength tips to anyone, even when they don't ask.

In the overworld, he can throw a big blue brick block to First Strike foes and knock down walls or hit switches. Alternately, he can throw Mario to help him reach areas that can't be walked over with Pinnit. One caveat with throwing Mario is that he will only stop when he hits a wall or enemy. Hitting an enemy in this state doesn't count as a First Strike, though.

His moves are:
Block Throw - Nero pulls out and throws a giant block at an enemy. It hits hard and pierces defense. Line up the cursors to aim the block. Like Zélie, miss the Action Command and Nero will miss the foe.
The block does 5 damage at Basic, 6 at Super, and 7 at Ultra Rank.
Foe Throw - Works like Gulp. Hold A down until the circle lights up,  and Nero will pick up an enemy and throw them at the enemy behind them. Sadly, he can only hit grounded foes.
The move deals 4 damage at Basic, 5 at Super, and 6 at Ultra Rank.
Fitness Technique - Press and hold the buttons prompted to do some stretches, which allows Nero to move twice in one turn for at most three turns.
Mega Block Drop - Hold the stick in the direction shown to drop a massive blue brick block on all enemies. Failing the Action Command causes a smaller, but still very big block to fall onto the foes.
When done correctly, the block does 6 piercing damage to all foes. If failed, it does 6 damage without piercing.
