My first thought is Dark Tara was grown in a cloning chamber powered by a fragment of the G.O. Impact Object, using the radiation's inherent rejuvenating properties to stabilize her genetic structure.

or to go a different route... an enchanted/demonic mirror... perhaps 2-sided, one side reflects an individual who's essence is to be taken(Shego), the front must reflect the form to be taken(Tara by accident). Of course the trap is it allows a minor demon entry to this plane...
