To be honest I don't really like Tim Currys version. I watched it few years ago, and movie didn't make any impression on me at all. Didn't scare or impress me. I quickly forgot it.Β
Bills version was simply stunning, and I just can't keep it out of my head.Β

Tim Curry was going a more comical route than Skarsgard's direct horror method.Β
Not many Stephen King stories are taken seriously, I mean King himself didn't like the Kubrick version of The Shining and he made his own that flopped.
In all honesty, Bill Skarsgard had me laughing when in Pennywise mode. Even the dancing in front of the flames had me laughing, especially when the music was distorting.

Actually while watching IT from 2017 I got a few laugh explosions so bad I was afraid people in cinema would kill me XD
Really. Scene with dancing was simply hilarious.
But after all he is a clown right?
I love this version of character since at the same time he is a goofy clown he is faking, but Bill also gave him this creepy feeling that makes you realize he is not a human even without turning into a monster.Β
Tim feels like an evil-prankster person dressed as clown, while Bill has perfectly showed the beast that "IT" is supposed to be. Just the way he stares at you gives nightmares.Β

Even the mantis arms were funny.
Tim Curry puts his all in his performance, even in the tiniest roles. The mini-series was for TV so they couldn't show the horror and gore at that point in time.

Oooh, this turned out really awesome looking.
I remember thinking this series was very interesting all through part one, then near the end of part two it kind of lost me what with the clown turning out to be an alien spider or something like that.
