. it conveys a strong sense of power that only comes from freedom . freedom to go where u wish . there is a contradiction that comes from the reflection which conveys hesitation . is it up to u or the viewer to pause or go . excellent piece .

i might post it at some point. the color version really isn't that much different than the b&w. the colors are so similar.

This is really very masterful. And you didn't just fix the whole problem of managing the toe touch, you took it's potential to a completely new level.

At the risk of jail I will attempt a few reactions.

In the previous shot, the overexposed fender took on a glowing reference to a rising moon, silhouetting ( or penetrated by ) the rakish heel. This version looses some of that kookiness and such references become more understated, but they remain preserved. What is gained is a more fully resolved sense of the leg and foot made available for viewing ... correctly exposed and tactile.

And we can sneek a peek from another angle reflected in chrome, where the flesh is extruded in playful(?) distortion. Where the buckle cinching the toes is reprised in double reflections. We see the toes nestled cutely from above, as well as in comely profile.

The "studio" feel of the shot does not produce the strangeness or vague alienation that its artificiality might have induced. Rather there is a sense of intimacy with the subject, of a private view. This allows a bit of leisure to explore the soup of psycho-sexual associations. tipped Flesh power coiled chrome heel strapped ankle bared calf Sleek up

FixMeKnow In reply to primate1 [2005-06-13 17:42:10 +0000 UTC]

thanks. i like it a lot better than the first shot. much cleaner and i didn't have to make any funny croppings due to water spots!

i was just going to replace "faster" with this one, but a number of people had already faved it and i felt it would be wrong of me just to replace it. so now i end up with 3 shoe/motocycle shots. i might do more at some point, when i by some other shoes. i can't really do black because they just vanish against the bike. even in color. and white looked odd as well. i'm thinking maybe red...

I liked the light shoes against the light fender. I could have gone on about that too but I try to rein it in.

You said you bought *two* new pair of shoes but so far you have only revealed *one* new pair. >

The "bells and whistles" shot was nice but for me the parts add up to the parts. Nice shoe shot, nice leg shot, (*very* nice leg shot), and a bike shot. But the title...the title...together with this subject? I feel there is more gold in that vein.

Red. Doing my printer demos I have one 8.5x11 I like to show. It is a layout of two 5x7 frames. One frame is a glossy red car showing the gleaming chrome grill on the front, juxtaposed is a closeup face shot of a very dark-haired latino woman with glossy red lips. Customers go straight for it.

it's hard to ignore the color red.

the other pair of shoes are white. i'm tyring to figure out a decent way to show them off.
