Rose wasn't one of his usual lovers... in fact, they weren't lovers at all, much to his surprise... and he was content with that. Bojack pondered what had happened, his still inebriated mind filled with a sense of peace he hadn't felt in so long. When he'd lead the aerial to his bed, he hadn't anticipated any of the events that followed. Rather than intense, lust-filled passion, they'd simply spoken in hushed tones about their lives... their worries... their fears.. until Rose had snuggled into his fur and fallen asleep. It was a kind of intimacy that was far more relaxing than anything he'd expected. This was far more personal, far more real than any kind of physical union he might have had. The mere exchanging of words made his heart soar and crash as her difficult story unfolded. He understood her... and she seemed to understand him. There was nothing he felt stronger now than the urge to protect and support her... but deep down, he feared he would be unable. After all, he was nothing more than a drunkard: A washed up celebrity with nothing more to live for in life and enough money to drown himself in the finest liquor he could find. How could he compare to the pure soul now resting on his chest? He knew the answer. He didn't want to think about it.
